While the personification of Sin has been a theme used for centuries, when I saw Gluttony I definitely thought the same thing. Very similar design.
Stuff looks cool, though.

just to clarify about what kind of game this is, here's a few screenshots.

it's a 3d side-scrolling multiplayer (local only, ie. Xbox-arcade) puzzle-shooter.
each sins has unique abilities which they must use to advance trough the levels.
Gluttony can eat objects/enemies, Sloth can slow time/enemies, etc.
it's a type of counter-co-op, which means it's not purely co-op, you're also supposed to harass your fellow players, (steal points etc) to make you win at the end of each level.
the idea of this is that you'll want to fuck up your friend enough, but not too much resulting in not completing the level. this is incorporated in how each sin charges it's 'special' ability. for example, sloth charges, by doing nothing at all, and simply standing still, and greed can build charge by simply hoarding everything he can, and gluttony charges by eating stuff.
hope this clarifies it all a bit.

oh and wrath's split chin (from the one screen on the website) makes me think elite for some odd reason, but then again it could just be the years of halo

Destined to succeed tbh, if you guys do it right. Catchy name, catchy theme, decent art style (though I think some of the character design could have been better) and if winning gameplay, this thing will pick up and move around like aids.
However, I'd try and look for a way to separate the visuals a little more from something like TF2. Otherwise you'll get all "that" shit.
Also, not liking that levels textures. They seem awfully familiar, and I noticed you said "Eternal Silence" at one point, so my alarm bells are ringing. Looks like alot of really nasty noober glow filter textures. Looks like turd second rate shit tbh. That right there will let you down. The textures for something like this should look like concept art. Painted, stroke for stroke.

yeah that's WAY old lava, it was placeholder only.

it's not really an endine, it's pretty much all ucstom made.
we're using a physics library and microsft XNA framework but the rest is our stuff.
it's really great, because i request a feature to be made, and it'll be done a few minutes later. i love it :P
i guess we should come up with a name for it?
also, inferno, we're still working on getting bloom working.
right now our priority is to make the fog NOT make any alphamapped geometry glow beyond control. (srsly)

figured i'd update this this a bit..
i've more or less wrapped up the Hell level (and added a rollercoaster, no joke), and started working on the Earth-theme levels.
lots of green, blue, and a pinch of brown :P also, GHOSTS AND WIND!
Most of the team is in Seattle right now, demoing @ Valve (Steam), and in 2 weeks there'll be a meeting with Microsoft (XBLA)
