I was thinking to get a pair of USB Speakers that were rated at 1 watt for my laptop to bring with me to university.

But are they worth it? I mean they're portable, that's useful; they draw power from USB, no need to take up one outlet that I sometimes always need.

But are USB speakers rated at low wattage worth the sound quality? Are USB speakers worth it at all?

FLITIBIJOJOJO DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT USB SPEAKERS?!

Specifically these:

I don't exactly buy the description.

Would be better off buying a USB sound card and plugging in a real set. USB speakers have been pretty shit in my experience.

I've got some Logitech V10 Laptop Speakers. They're decent for presentations, but you're gonna want something better. Go with a real set of speakers.

I haven't had any experience with USB speakers, but if they're as good as USB headphones....

Alright, well seeing as how I have some money to fork (unwillingly)...

I bought a pair of X-mini II speakers (apparently they're these great little portable USB speakers, that you can hook up together in a "daisy-chain" for louder experience.)

and I'm going to try out a Harmon/Kardon 2.1 set that I've been told is superb...Since when do crystal speakers = superb?

I've got some Logitech Z-10 USB's here.
They are win.
While it's not hugely amazing, it does do the trick and is better than most built in's.

How much did you pay for them?

They are $15 on dillyeo (which is a very good price compared to amazon's). I bought two and used a coupon (which took off $1.50) and ended up paying $37 with shipping.

The Harmon/Kardon speakers are being sold for $100 on amazon, I think I'll hold off on that.
