In what may be a shed of light on the hope that Duke Nukem Forever may one day release before the turn of the century, 3D Realms and Take-Two announced that they have dismissed their litigation regarding Duke Nukem Forever.
"The above action, including any and all claims that were or could have been asserted by the parties, is dismissed with prejudice in accordance with the terms of the Settlement Agreement executed by the parties on May 14, 2010." That quote, coming from the official court document, basically means that neither party can file another suit on any of the previous claims. Also note that the agreement was made last month, on the 14th.
3D Realms now has the freedom to continue work on Duke Nukem Forever with whatever team they have left, if they so chose too. Don't be expecting any announcements anytime soon however (not even within a year or more I would estimate). I do think it's a pretty big coincidence that they announce this settlement the week before the biggest video game tradeshow ever, E3. Plus, the settlement was reached a month ago, and that provides ample time to work up some announcement, right. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. Please don't read too much into it (looking at you AAA).

P.S: How do you guys like my news-style posting? I'm working on becoming a freelance video game reviewer/news poster, starting with work on a site my friend made. Any critique on my writing would be appreciated. Please PM me any feedback so as to not clutter up the thread.
