It complies with FAA regulations for ultralights, goes ~60 mph at ~7000 feet. I want one. About time we got a bit of the awesome future imagined so long ago. They're actually commercially producing these things now :v

only 30mins of flight?

this won't be taking off very fast :snafubar:

in real world individual use that is. maybe at amusement parks or skydiving schools etc

i can only imagine the lawsuits that are going to arise from this.

"TOP HEADLINE: LOCAL BOY FALLS 7000 FEET TO HIS DEATH VIA JETPACK"
parents had this to say: "we had no idea the jetpack was a dangerous thing. we thought we were just getting our son a toy"

what a waste of a jetpack :-\. natural selection needs to be cheaper

hmmmm, a game about playing mother nature and finding (resource efficient = +points) ways to "select" the ones who need not be here ;o?

I'm sure getting rid of extreme money wasters is part of natural selection.

This is the air version of the segway.

Now a hoverboard on the other hand, I would snap up straight away.

Jetpack = jet powered package light enough/small enough to be carried on the back.

That is an aircraft. It weighs 250 pounds. I've met very few people who would physically be able to drag that thing, let alone hoist it onto their back and walk farther than 100 yards.

yeah, agreed. When its minimized to iron-man class compactness, I'll get excited. We've had jetpacks for a while, but they've never been practical to produce. By the looks of it, it still isnt.
