Seriously. That piece of shit codec and player fucked my Windows Media Player. Even after uninstalling all of the Divx shit, Windows Media Player still won't play anything .avi related.

Is there a way to fix this?

download klite-codec pack from http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

The codec pack contains FFDShowDXVA* codec, which is useful to enhance the quality of H.264 videos, provided you enabled the codec,
and the features of your GPU.

DirectX Video Acceleration.

depends on what you're watching really, I'd use CCCP over K-lite with no regrets.

You can probably just download and reinstall wmp. I would strongly advise against either of those codec packs, they have both caused me audio cracking.
