I can't take a simple PISS in the morning without being scared shitless by a spider that doesn't even belong in my GODDAMN state.

I'm PRETTY SURE that's a brown recluse. Fucker is slightly bigger than a silver dollar. I literally DROWNED the bitch in this:

hate to tell you this but recluses are known in just about every state on the east coast. used to see them all the time in FL, and definitely now in PA.

use your shoe next time, or get a peice of paper and scoop it up and let it go outside (usually what i do)

Oh my god, thats fucking huge. I would have shit myself if I saw that. I had to deal with one the other night tthe size of my thumbnail, even then I was a lil bit anxious but holy crap thats a BEAST.

I remember having one in my bath that size, however body was waaaaay smaller, ended up throwing a paint tin on it, even then it crawled out after I picked it up.

spiders in my home suffer gravely. They are jettisoned into the toilet, where they are showered with any bodily functions that need managing.

Oh please spiders can be big and everything but man

So right behind my bed there's a window with some curtains. About two weeks ago I woke up ~7AM, and while I was still laying in bed I heard the curtains shuffle a bit. So I look up and there's a FUCKING ELEVEN-INCH LONG ONE-INCH-WIDE CENTIPEDE CRAWLING RIGHT ABOVE ME AND STARING RIGHT. AT. ME. I didn't take this picture but here's what it looks like (it's a massive centipede native to Texas.) Millipedes don't got nothing on this beast.

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/269/holyshitl.jpg

Once I stopped shitting myself I used a broom to sweep it in a paper bag. I took it outside tried spraying it with a shitload of anti-bug spray, but that only stunned it. So I picked up the sharpest stick I could fine and started stabbing it, but I could barely get it through (strong centipede, weak white guy), so I went and got some garden shears and cut the little bastard into pieces. I then tossed the chunks into the local storm drain.

I wasn't able to sleep soundly for the next couple of nights.

Every now and then I see wolf spiders around. Call me crazy but watching them crawl around doing their own thing, I think they're kinda cute, despite the fact that they're poisonous as all get out.

Trust me, dealing with a bat is not as easy as it seems. And Llama did a much better job at keeping his composure then I did when I had to deal with a bat flying around the house.

Hey. Ifafudafi:

Some species of centipede can be hazardous to humans because of their bite. Although a bite to an adult human is usually very painful and may cause severe swelling, chills, fever, and weakness, The bite of larger centipedes can induce anaphylactic shock.
Symptoms: Severe pain which is usually in proportion to the size of the creature, local swelling and redness, swollen, painful lymph nodes in the regions of the bitten limb, headache, palpitations or a racing pulse, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, local itching and burning sensations.
Physical findings due to centipede envenomation may include the following: Local swelling and redness, small puncture wounds which may form a chevron pattern and the possibility of local ulcerations and necrosis.
Evaluation: The victim may be evaluated further by urine testing for proteinuria to determine the presence of rhabdomyolysis (muscle tissue breakdown) and an EKG to check for cardiotoxic arrythmias and vasospasm.

That's the thing. I LOVE tarantulas. A Costa Rican Zebra Tarantula is my dream pet. I will gladly go all day with a tarantula on my head/shoulder.

It's the small fuckers I have issues with. They're tiny, they can get in places they don't belong and if they're venomous my anxiety increases.

I have a lot of Wolf Spiders, Jumping Spiders, Garden Spiders, Writing Spiders around my house. Hell I have a Black Widow or two somewhere around my shed. They don't bother me because I know they're behavior patterns, toxity concerning humans and what it takes to provoke them.

Brown Recluse necrotic bites tend to be rare but it's the simple fact that this fucker was HUGE and has the possibility to cause necrosis that caused me to panic.

I tend to have a greater respect for most insects/arachnids that most people, as such I've never been bitten by a venomous spider. Still, Brown Recluse just get under my skin...

Ever since I've moved my PC into the basement I have to deal with all the creepy crawlies, since spring/summer started I've put at least 10 centipedes/millipedes outside and killed a dozen or so spiders. There was a sudden ant incursion in our basement for awhile, then I found their hill beside the house and nuked it with some bug spray stuff. I actually find the centipedes/millipedes fun to watch so long as they aren't in my personal space (i.e. in or around my computer) while I'm using it. I usually just get a paper, let them crawl onto it and then take them outside if they start getting annoying. I watched one crawl along the top of all my monitors from one side to the other, back and forth, at least 4 times before I kicked him out haha.

Spiders though, I see them, they die. Same with ants, fucking ants they're annoying as fuck.

House Centipedes can actually deter a lot of common house pets, including spiders. Which is why I was so surprised to have this fucker in my bathroom that night. Often times when I used the restroom I'll see a 2 inch long fucker stalking a waterbug/cockroach and feel contented about it. They stay out of my room so I don't care. I dunno why there's been a lack of house centipedes in my home lately.

They better come back, I don't want more of this big fuckers in my home...

Yeah people normally mistake wolf spiders for brown recluse spiders.
