It's been 235 years since the United States of America declared it's independence from Great Britain. Today is a day of relaxing, bar-b-ques, family get-togethers and of course explosives. In our history the US has done some silly and sometimes outright foolish things, I can only imagine our older brother across the Atlantic face palmed on more than one occasion.

Happy Independence Day. I myself am heading for Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Anyone else heading somewhere special for the 4th?

Today is just a chill day for me.. hung out with my brother and played games and such.... good day.

Oh, and found out that my uncle is in the hospital, just got half his left leg amputated... makes me kinda feel like an asshat for lighting fireworks off on my legs.

Yeah I saw that movie on today too!
Happy Independence Day to all of you who celebrate it, I spent it with my airsoft buddy Jordan at my grandmother's house and ate CHEESECAKE AND KFC

Went to my parents' house; they were making entirely home-made burgers. My dad got this ridiculously delicious chuck/ribeye combination for the beef (he said the butcher looked at him funny), my mother made the buns from scratch and got the potatoes for the french fries from her mother (who's still alive and living on a farm), and so on and so forth. Best got damn burgers & fries anywhere, served with lemonade they also made from scratch.

Then, because my dad's a massive movie snob, we passed up Independence Day and watched The Patriot. Not that it's any less fictitious, but it's got a bunch of melodrama and such (along with a guy getting decapitated by a cannonball)

It's not as clear cut as that ross, and thats a pretty retarded stance to take.

i know that if it's not broke dont fix it.... but i mean that shit happened 235 bloody years ago. There's more important shit to be perfectly honest.

Still doesn't change the fact that we kinda did throw a spoiled hissy fit when you think about it. :\

exactly. while i'm being completely unserious just to wind the more hurf blurf nationalistic americans up there is an element of truth to it, obviously there was plenty else going on too but everyone else just dealt with it

Seeing as how none of us lived at the time of Independence Day's birth nor have any real true experience in how life was back then (remember guys, they had no computers or video games!), I think trying to make any arguments about actions made or not made back then are moot.
