View Full Version : Purchased Game through Steam; doesn't appear in Games Library

I recently purchased a copy of a All Points Bulletin (APB) through Steam. I received a confirmation email when the purchase was complete/successful, and the game appeared in my 'All Games' list on my Steam Community Profile (http://steamcommunity.com/id/bastinka/games?tab=all). Yet however, the game did not appear in my Library.

I have attempted many solutions that were suggested - none of which have worked. I have contacted Steam Support, which is really restricted and only allows you to support tickets that get replied to once, twice now with only one reply suggesting I restart Steam and if the problem persists just read the FAQ page instead of contacting Support. It has been 3 days now since I bought the game and still nothing at all has really happened concerning the issue. I posted the confirmation email in both of the tickets as proof of purchase and also a link to my Steam Community Profile games list. Either way Support did not acknowledge it and settled for a simple, non-working, solution. I have also asked my Mom, who lives in another country (America), to log in to my Steam account using Steam to see if she saw the game under my Library - she didn't. I also tried that with a good friend of mine from Brazil, who even took a screenshot for me proving it was not under the Library. (There were no games listed under 'Not Installed' section)

If anyone has any solutions to suggest, please do - or if you have had the same problem please tell me what you did as I would really love to play the game which I so dearly paid for.

Try typing steam://install/57500 into your browser, hope it works :)

There's usually some steam launch URL for each of the games.

Find the one for APB and try using that to install and launch it until steam support gets back to you?

Oh my god, I love you!
It still doesn't appear in the downloads or my games list but now I can at least launch it through steamapps/common/allpointsbulletin! :)

I had this same problem with CoD4. I just went into the "activate games" menu and hit ok a few times (even though it was asking for a CD key) and then CoD4 just magically appeared in my games list.

Now I need a miracle, I totally overlooked the fact that without being able to launch it through steam and steam ignores when I try to launch using:

steam://rungameid/57500

:(
I really don't want to send another ticket into Steam support, is there anything I can do through Steam so I can just play my damn game?

EDIT:
I tried what you said inferno and theres only 'Next', which doesn't end up doing anything at all. Tried entering random letters over and over also didn't work.

No I have to launch it the way Steam would so it would prompt me with my Product Key.

The APB servers are permanently shut down as of 23 September 2010, dude. It won't matter.

I dont think you read his post at all dude.

Not once in his post did he mention All Point Bulletin, he is having the same problem Bastinka had, instead with Half Life 2/Team Fortress 2.

Make sure your library is showing "All Games" (just above the game list, below the back and forward arrows) as opposed to "Installed".

Also, for anybody who bought APB, you can get a free activision game as compensation for wasting your money :o
