I'm trying to get LAN to work for a little one on one.

I have the network setup through direct pc to pc via a crossover cable, but the game server won't show up on the list (btw, I'm using halo to test this; it is the same version). I don't know what's wrong because I can share folders and files through this connection just fine.

ips are the default: 192.168.0.10 and .... .20

I've been trying to host games using the .10 computer exclusively and haven't tried hosting a game with .20.

Help?

Thanks. that did the trick. I also removed the cross over cable and replaced it with a spare router I have and used regular cat-5 cables. It works now. I'm not sure if it was the router or the firewall, but I completely forgot about that so thanks for the reminder.

No problem, had the same problem when playing via crossover once. IIRC it has something do do with the same reason neither computer shows up in "Network" when up try and find them, yet you can still access them by manually typing in "\\COMPUTER-NAME".
