Alright bros. I won about 5 matches in a row in MP and now I'm stuck playing against these epic profags that I just CAN'T seem to beat. What kind of strategies do you guys use. I mainly play terran but I also play protoss some.

When it comes to Terran I try to sabotage their resources by rushing people really early in the game with 3 or 4 reapers. And once I have done some damage I run out of there and begin producing siege tanks and marines. I also like to build a small group of banshees with cloaking and fuck up your base before you realize you don't have any detector units. This only really works against Terran and Protoss though. Another good strategy is to load up 3 drop ships with 3 siege tanks a few groups of marines and drop it right behind there mineral field or on the outer edge of there base (just outside any defenses) and wreak havoc until they realize whats happening and you pull out.

With protoss I just like to rush Dark Templar and fuck up their shit all over the place.

Simply put -- scout, slaughter probes/drones/SCVs, get as many resources as you can as quickly as possible, spend those resources as quickly as you can (the question is how...), zerg rush money map.

As zerg. Derek tends to rush about 150 zerglings......I build about 50 bunkers and 20 seige tanks for defense.....then spam marines and firebats.

Firebats aren't an option Teek

I'm a defense first, destroy later kind of player (Terran), so I tend to build SCV's as rapidly as I can and build up a nice line of bunkers, missile turrets and siege tanks to give me a little breathing room to develop. Once my economy is moving along, I start building a nice fleet of air units, probably a second base or two, then start organizing a few squads for attack/expansion.

I was talking about starcraft in general. I guess now I can spam this new apc thing or marauders I guess.

Also Void Rays.

I haven't played multiplayer yet. Can you build Spectres or Ghosts? Because it would be badass to be able to nuke your opponent's base.

I've never seen a nuke online but it's possible.

Our team got nuked several times, but he/she was quite poor at choosing the location, so it didn't do any significant damage.

Battle cruisers are a better use of resources. Nukes are only good against super turtles and no one really plays super turtle in SC2.

I'm mainly a protoss player. I usually 10 probes then start a pylon or 2. build more probes, get a gateway started, and an assimilator. train 2-5 zealot and start a cybernetic core and research warp gate. Build a few more zealot then start 2-3 more gateway and start flooding zealot and probes. Start a Stargate and fleet beacon. Then start a mothership. send all the troops to the choke along with the mother ship. tell them to hold position. I then start warping in stalkers and start a robotics factory an bay, as well as a forge. build up defenses with a few colossus. By this time, I'll prob run out of min and have to "long mine." This only works like 50% of the time on free for all, but in teamplay, this makes it devastating if you can get that mothership out early.

as zerg, 8 drones to start, then overlord, then another 4 drones, spawning pool then extrator and as many drones as you can untill it spawns, build a queen instantly, and 2 sunkens.

how i start just about every round

Nukes are easier in SC2 than in SC1... but still a pain in the vespene unless you were already planning on going Ghosts.

Most of the time cloaked Banshees do just as much or more trouble.

Cloaked banshees can take down all your miners before you even know what's going on. I usually build them in groups of 5.

Also, remember that each mineral field + vespene geysers takes 30 miners. 6 for the gas, 24 on minerals. that's 3 miners per mineral and per geyser. also, 3 vs 3s are my favorite.

continue to build about 30 scvs through the entire game, and get them going about 25 on minerals and 5 on vespene
create mass amounts of marauders in case of rush, create about 15
then, just mass out Thors the rest of the game.

Game Over.

Not really, Thors are quite easy to kill when you have 2 colossi and Immortals. Any protoss player that scout your base sees mass marauders will chrono boost out atleast 2 immortals and 2 colossi. from there, you'll have your basic stalkers and zealot with 1-3 sentry.

/End game.

To be fair, Marauders are quite hard to counter in early parts of a game. I'd recommend if you're going for marauders, don't wait for the thors, rush as soon as you have 5-10 marauders + atleast 5 marines, it's very hard to counter if the protoss player do not get the immortal out asap.

Nukes *are* good in 2v2 or more... Mothership + Ghost... Vortex Nuking. Suck 'em up and spit 'em out just in time for the nuke to come down.

Epic if you can pull it off.

Hey, you shouldn't have been all grouped together.

I was wondering if a terran could be sneaky and lift off his base at the start of a game and move it to a high yield location and start mining. It would throw off the other player, but I'm not sure how much of an advantage this could be seeing how it takes time to do it and if the yield would pay off in lost time.

I don't play terran so I don't know if this is a strat for them.

I just thought this might be very good especially on maps where the high yield is very close, but on an island where opponents can't scout at all until they can get an air unit on the field.

Phopojijo

You physically can... but that takes a lot of time unless the resource is REALLY close and REALLY well defendable...

Currently there are no such regular maps AFAIK.
