Started playing this the other day, it's pretty awesome. As far as I know it has every area from each NFS game.

If you're into Need For Speed, and you've played stuff like Drift City and liked it, Definitely give this a try (it's free, c'mon).

I see. But my 360 controller doesn't seem to work with it and I don't want to play with the keyboard.

Yeah keyboard controls are hella funky, every turn you make turns your car into a wall seeking missile. Cop chases are fun though.

I actually like the keyboard over controller. What car are you using?

It does get annoying, but I kinda like it. I'd rather have a challenge against the cops, and it gives me something to look forward to.

Double posting because this is crap. You can't go above level 10 without buying the Starter Pack...

I ended up buying it. Once the servers go back up for it, it should automatically give me the stuff.
What you'll get with the starter pack:
8000 Boost points ($20 worth)
You'll now be able to progress to level 50
If you haven't started playing you can get a Mazda Motorspeed 3 in the beginning, or a special kind of Corolla.
And other stuff.

Doublepost bump:
Quoted from an email I got today
After listening to feedback from our community, we've decided to make a change to ensure you have the best multiplayer experience possible. Starting today, we've removed the Level 10 cap for all users.
As our most ardent fan, we wanted to say "Thank You", and cool fast cars seemed to be the best way.
Here's a little token of our appreciation for buying the Starter Pack – three 7-day car rental vouchers for the BMW M3 GTR, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the Audi R8 4.2 FSI Quattro.
We will continue to sell the Starter Pack which remains the best value bundle, but only gamers who purchased the Starter Pack before September 9th get this present – and you're one of them!
Thanks for all your support and passion! So coolness, the game isn't as bad for free users anymore

rental vouchers?
i think it's safe to say that nfs (playing since nfs 1) is dead.

The game was always garbage, especially the PS1 games, Shift was the best one

Bumpity bump.
Started playing this again with a few friends, big update going on right now and servers are currently down.
Patch Notes:
New Features:
- New Visual Customization System: Players are now able to install individual visual parts on their vehicle through the Aftermarket Shop
- All new wheels, neons, window tints, tiered lowering kits, and custom license plates have been added to the game
- The Audi TT RS is now available for purchase from the Car Dealer (previously available for rental only.)
More here. (http://www.needforspeed.com/post/nfs-world-patch-notes-patch-514)
They've also done quite a few things, including upping the visuals, making it so you can buy specific performance parts (such as transmission parts, including which tier the part is for), and making it better if you don't want to pay for Boost points.
If anyone is down to play sometime with me and my friends, my account name is TearShade. That, or you can talk to me on Steam.

Stopped caring about this game after I first played it and everyone and their cars were just disappearing and jumping around the roadways instead of driving.

Well it's not a good idea to download torrents when playing an online game silly.
I also found out that all the stuff that they added doesn't cost ingame cash, it costs Boost points :\

I'm talking about the closed beta, open beta, and shortly after release, not a torrent... Game was horrible lol.

Huh? No, he thinks your torrent client is downloading while playing games lol.

More reason to hope this game drops dead.

Oh, well it always is. But torrent traffic is only allocated to 50% of my connection, the game should run fine on the other 50%.
