just had my first 1v1 over battlenet and this is the result

40 mins long but x8 and just skipping saves alot of time.

Fucking hard game, i thought i'd lost it about 4 times.

He rushed me with vikings to start but i managed to use my corruptors to get slime them then finish off with my a few hydras, then he attacks my high yield resource expansion and just annihlates it with maruders, i pull back and ambush him with burrowed banelings and then burrowed hydras, i then counter with my hydras and and my extra lings i built during his raid and take out his second expansion outside his base before being taken down with tanks and thors.

this went on a couple of times, just push counter attacks from both of us before i finally overwhelemd him with lings and lords.

GG, very close, took a couple of gambles but managed to pay off.

What? The game play is pretty smooth on standard. It can play from anything to a insane proxy rush too a slow turtle game. It's quite impressive how balanced it is.

I just had a epic game where I built a proxy base and did reaper rushes while stacking up a huge force of marines, and then all 4 players had their main bases destroyed and we ended up playing a little attrition. Will upload with a commentary later.

to be honest i have to say the best one was where i massed Blords

Particularly interested in the vs iMaster game 1 (lost temple)......first off, learn how to split because you had some workers sitting there when they easily could have been heading to mine. Work on a 3&3 split, where you send them all to a further right/left patch, then select 3 while they're all traveling and send them to the opposite side of the farm. Your mineral spending was atrocious as well, at times you had 600+ minerals and open warp gates with nothing being warped in. (I personally like to chrono-boost my warp gate technology also, morphing them as soon as "research complete" sounds.) The gas was also very bad, since you never got 3 probes onto them quickly enough. Most times on Lost Temple you can expand easily as a Protoss if you just wall-off right there and hope they don't get air. If so you should have enough stalkers anyway to just run back up to your main and defend. There's more but I forgot...playing you sometime would be nice though :P

the koreans do have a tendency to pick terran, what with Nada, Boxer flash, OoV being part of their childhood and all.

But Terran at this point in time in SC2 has more options and openings then the other races, this allows them to recover and play in situations the other races cant.
They are the best, but it's the terrans multi-tasking thats whats killing people, not that they went for a BFH or Banshee and you didnt prepare enough.

yes because the fact that in september ZvT was nearly a TWENTY FUCKING PERCENT difference in favour of terran, Protoss was down 13% vs zerg and Toss being down just under 6% vs terran, and terrans taking a few thousand more games than they should be over the year isn't a big deal at all.

Anything over 1-2% imbalance is a big deal, stop acting like it's not pls ty.

Assuming very generously that each match was a best of three (you know it aint), and that there was only one match reported for tournament, you've got [the top] .1% of the population. Otherwise,figuring more traditional you're looking at less than .005625% of the population of around 3 million. If you had ever taken a single statistics class, you'll learn your first fucking day that there are critical things missing that would make this reliable statistics.

The biggest fucking problem here is that you're trying to turn an entire fucking tournament into a fucking statistic for racial balance. Guess what? When you do that, the people that fucking win skew the line because they fucking play more fucking games you fucking idiot. Even so, look at the fucking standard deviation. The majority of the time, everything is within two deviations of one another with multiple occasions everything is within one standard deviation.

Lets take a look at your EXTREME TWENTY FUCKING PERCENT difference(what the fuck is a difference in statistics). Since mirror matchups aren't counted towards these statistics (kinda a big deal in a tournament setting) lets throw terran into the fire. Round of 16 beginning, 6 toss, 6 zerg, 4 terran. ImMVP and three scrub terrans play. These are best of fives so at least three games must be played. If the first round, the three scrub terrans play valiantly but lose the match 3-2. MVP rapes and wins 3-0 since he's just that good. MVP makes it to the grand finals and wins an extended match 4-1. That puts terran for the tournament at 20 wins 9 losses if it played a single race the entire way through. Lets assume the first round Terran played 2 zerg 2 protoss and MvP beat a zerg. MvP moved on to beat another zerg and played against toss through to the grand final. That would mean Terran had 6 wins 2 losses against zerg ( 3 wins 6 losses against terran) and 7 wins 1 loss against protoss (7 wins 7 losses against terran).

According to SELENTIC logic, that means that protoss is just as good as terran even though 75% of terrans were fucking scrubs and lost in the first round while at the same time terrans fucking rape the psionic assholes of protoss.

When you think about it though it's not really 20%, it's 10%. It's 60-40 yeah but every % you take from one you have to put back on the other (disregarding draws).

1 was better, think of it in terms of things like 3sk and lead.
these things make games more satisfying to win and more exciting to watch, but much harder to play.

BW had it in spades, because every unit in the game was OP as fuck, so if you where cutting corners you could be punished in so many different ways.

in SC2, units (except the fucking marines and maruders), are much weaker, defensive structures are stronger which make it harder to just Kill someone for a mistake.
