This is really starting to piss me off. I've done hours of searching on how to fix these problems , but no solution has worked.

Error one is what I get first. When I click okay about four more of the same error message show up with a crazy assortment of numbers in the weird brackets for each message. Then error 2 shows up. When I click okay it says installation failed. I've seen people with these problems who managed to fix it.

I've tried every solution that has worked for these people and still they don't work for me. Hopefully somebody here has experience with this piece of shit installer.

BTW, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Windows 7 already runs .NET Framework 2.0. Why would you want to go backwards since backwards compatibility is already there?

HEK+ runs on 1.1, and doesn't work with flat out 2.0- I remember there was something I did that got it to work... let's see if I can find it.

Is that the following installer linked to in the thread? http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7programs/thread/eb1e6232-e874-432e-ab43-17660e25e43d

ergo the dotnetfx.exe?

When you start it and it says "this program appears to have compatability problems" just do "run program" - worked for me.... also, make sure you run it with administrator privileges.

That is the installer, yes. I tried running the program anyways as an Admin and no dice, still. HEK+ works on my other Win7 PC along with other .Net installers, but not on this computer.
