So how about today's Google (http://www.google.com/)? Is this in celebration of some event or just some fancy pants gimmicks? It's not everyday Google breaks into particles and evades my mouse :saddowns:

How the hell is it doing that? Is this actually integrated into the page itself? I mean, it's definitely not Flash..
Pretty clever and interesting stuff Google is testing out...

I'm not seeing shit. The logo seems whole and unmodified.

It's a pretty cool effect. The second best Google icon thing IMO, behind the Pacman game a few weeks ago.

Acording to this (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1309737/Google-logo-Doodle-Mystery-new-interactive-balloon-design-homepage.html?ITO=1490) article, it's made using HTML 5.

Yeah I actually figured out it was HTML after accidentally hitting ctrl+A... Still pretty cool tho.

Hopefully this will get people going towards HTML5 instead of flash and the other assorted proprietary crap.

Google does it again. This time the logo is gray with a blinking cursor before the G until you type in search text. At that point the logo is filled with the usual color you know it for and the cursor is now after the 'e'.

Wow- and this is all with HTML? Websites could get a lot fancier without any outside plugins- that's crazy.

If it doesn't work for you then your browser doesn't support HTML5. I'm liking this HTML5 now, as I HATE flash.

Can't for this to be used on websites, only problem is that many users of the internet may not upgrade as they are not advanced users. This means you still have to write JavaScript if you wish for the same effects to work for all users :(

They have a bit of Ajax on the go now. No need to press enter anymore, it searches as you type. I'm surprised at how fast it returns and displays the results.
