~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is updated Public Beta release of the MainMenu Mod.
The MainMenu Mod (or MMM) allows us to load new custom multiplayer maps
from the Default Map Menu which allows us to load custom vehicles and HUDs,
among other things. The MMM is also referred to as a patch.
The new maps are referred to as Halo 2.5 maps or H2.5. These maps must be
manually downloaded through your web browser and placed in your Default Maps
directory.
Just the MMM Patch
(http://www.h2mt.org/MMM/Patch/MMM.zip) 90.8KBs (~367KBs extracted)
In the future we hope to add support for in-game downloading be it through Halo 2
or with the aid of an external Map Manager.
The current patch supports ten new map Slots and now includes access to Campaign
maps from the Multiplayer Menu.
Slot1 - H2.5 Coag Redux (http://www.h2mt.org/maps/H2.5/)
Slot2 - H2.5 Sandtrap (http://www.h2mt.org/maps/H2.5/)
http://www.h2mt.org/repository/images/headers/header_8.jpg
Slot3 - H2.5 Vertigo 4 (http://www.h2mt.org/maps/H2.5/)
Slot4 - H2.5 Holidays Grave (http://www.h2mt.org/maps/H2.5/)
INSTALLATION:
1) Extract the contents of the MainMenu Mod archive.
2) Open the application called H2.5 MainMenu Mod Patcher (you may need to
right -click it and select Run as administrator if you have UAC enabled).
3) Click the browse button where it says Patch File, then select the file:
Patch.sppf
Click Apply Patch. Done with patching.
4) Download and place one of the H2.5 maps into the same folder as your patched mainmenu.map:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo 2\maps (the install location for Halo 2)
Thats it! Now load the new maps from the Default Menu (not the custom one) by
selecting the correctly named Slot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

HOSTING:

To play locally, after you have acquired an H2.5 modified map, go to the Multiplayer
Map Menu and select the correctly named Slot.

To host the H2.5 maps online the other players DO NOT require the MMM however
they do need to have the maps in their Default folder.

That's a pretty good release. I just might check it out the next time I feel like installing H2V.

I tried to add more slots like neodos did for H2X,
1737

I cloned that many slots, and then adjusted the block count, am I missing something else?
I tried adding 1000, 50 etc, they all bork! the game. D:

If I had Neodos' original patch I could learn from it, but neither he or his patch are available anywhere.

I think TwinReaper knows him. PM him through MM and see if he can help out. TY for trying to get us more slots Shock.

That's really cool.

Too bad that the situation in H2V is similar to HCE now: About 20% of players have custom maps installed because most players can't be arsed to download custom maps, and like 10% of these players actually play on custom maps/want to play on custom maps.
Now IDK how many people want to not only download the maps but the patch too...

I'm not saying that it's not worth it though!

This makes H2V worth reinstalling for me.

This is tempting me to buy this game, assuming you could have most of the CE maps, that would be pretty sweet. (Timberland, Ice Fields, Tensity and Snow Grove in mind.)

Don't do it Necr0matic!

I don't get it, isn't it easier to just create it as a regular map? Other than creating a custom main menu mod, and stuff, or do ordinary custom maps do not support custom sounds?

The Main Menu Mod (or MMM) allows us to load new custom multiplayer maps
from the Default Map Menu which allows us to load custom vehicles and HUDs,
among other things. The MMM is also referred to as a patch.

The map will not appear in the regular custom map screen if it features a new vehicle.

New sounds (from HCE source) do not require the patch.

I've been busy with many other mapping projects and tutorials but much of the work will come full circle and feed back into the MMM project, eventually. This includes new BSPs, weapons, scenery, effects, shaders and textures.

Here are some preview's of other MMM maps:

Slot3 - H2.5 Vertigo 4 BETA - BSP by my friend and fellow H2MT associate Slaters Fury

Slot4 - H2.5 Holidays Grave ALPHA - A mirrored Zanzibar with a bay and two bases

Fire! Fire! Fire! He-heh.

Yeah-Yeah. Burn it.

This updated version of Holidays Grave includes the new V1 of the Fire Tank and the Fire Hog and the latest Flamethrower. Oh and the Spook prototype (a Cov jet based on the Spectre model). Mongoose has been fixed so it is easier to board from either side.

You know it would be really usefull if you didn't upload images to sites where you need to be registered in order to view them.

Resinball

I didn't upload them and was wondering if others could see them. I will have to fix that.
