After a good few weeks I have finally finished my Forgeworld map, “Stonehenge” an asymmetric map based in the two Forgeworld locations Montana and Alaska. The main focus of this map is big team objective games such as assault or CTF with a heavy teamwork undertone. The map has been split into two sections giving each team a large territory, both of which have their own inherent advantages and disadvantages.

1751 1752 1753
At the center of the map you will find a system of teleports jettisoning from the natural cliffs that separate the map into two halves. This adds an interesting game play mechanic. It forces either assaulting team to take an offensive against the enemy on foot with minimal vehicular support. In fact, the only friendly vehicle support the Blues or Reds can rely on is that of the falcon. This hopefully will force team communication and coordinative movement to reach the matches goal.
1754 1755 1756
Each base is set at an elevated level to allow both teams an optimal vantage point from which to defend their wide expanses of land. Although they are perched well above the battlefield this does not make them impenetrable. Either base has three points of entry, a grave lift, man cannon, or a hard beaten footpath leading to the side or rear of the base.
1757 1759 1760 1758 1761
Once inside Red or Blue Base you will find three main levels of combat; the first floor which offers the most cover from attacking forces but a limited view of the battlefield. A top floor, which gives a much larger field of view but with significantly less cover from attacking Falcons. And lastly the ground level where you will find two Warthogs and a Mongoose ready for base defense. For quick access to any of these levels each base is equipped with a teleporter system (largely inspired by the ones on Halo CE’s Death Island) set on the first floor, ready to safely and quickly shuttle you from point A to point B.
1762 1764 1763 1765 1766
Throughout the map you will find plenty of different cover points and weapons varying anywhere from the humble AR to the boom stick that is the sniper rifle; allowing for safe, stealthy movement, but not subtracting from the intensity of close to long range encounters.
1769 1771 1772
Well, there you have it, Stonehenge. Hopefully I can set up a play date to see how this thing works out soon. File share link and map specifics below.
