So apparently "Oblivion 2" it doesn't use the aging Gamebryo, Obsidian said that NV is going to be last game to use it.

Fucking finally. And getting rid of that shitty old engine will make it 1000x better.
e: Nope, its just an extended version of the same engine, I was hoping for the rage engine :(

I really don't have a problem with the FO3 engine. Yes, Oblivion looks out of date now, but for such a large world space, FO3 looks amazing in my opinion. The largest problem with Bethesda is that their textures are usually VERY VERY low res, and that they coded their construction sets in such a way that their games are very restricted on custom content (ie. inability to create custom elements such as animations and GUI's). Neither of which have to do with their graphics engine. Also, if you're basing your opinion on the visual quality of the game from just the console version, then your claims are really illegitimate. They have to cater the game to the shitty 360 hardware. Maxed out on PC, I know as a fact that the shadows/shaders/foliage draw distance is almost twice as that of the 360 version. Not to mention you can get up to 8x MSAA and 16x ANSF on PC.

That's my opinion. Then again, I've always been a critic of the 360.

Also, one of the main reasons why Oblivion looks worse than FO3 is because it runs on an ancient DX9 DPI. That version of DirectX didn't support multiple post processing effects simultaneously, mainly HDR and MSAA at the same time. Considering the distance FO3 has come from that(though it is still essentially DX9), I foresee ES5 to look pretty impressive(on the shitty 360 hardware at least), and even better on PC.

The one thing that I do agree that IS shitty with gamebryo is its physics engine. Physics is non-existent in Bethesda games.

I played oblivion on 360, and both FO's on PC with high settings. It still looks outdated and the NPC's look like shitty papermache abstract art models.
I'm not worried out about how the environment will look (as long as they don't take away too much from fallouts blandness) as long as the get more than 3 voice actors.

Again that really has nothing to do with the graphics engine, but rather Bethesda's lack of resources to voice the 5 thousand+ NPC's, and lack of decent artists on their staff, and also goes back to how they coded their AI.

I guess the AI could be grouped in with the graphics engine, but the graphics themselves I have no problem with.

Delta, have you ever played S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat? That game 1.) makes anything on Gamebryo look and feel like shit and 2.) makes Fallout 3 look like a wimpy game, period. And it does all that while having a game world as large as Fallout, if not larger.
