Chrome Users Unite :iamafag:

I am really enjoying Chrome and its implementation of extensions, and I know its easy to miss some of those gems, so I figured we could make a list of really good Extensions here. Userscripts are also welcome because Chrome handles them just the same. Any other customizations like Stylish themes and the likes are also welcome. I have a few extensions I would like to give shout outs to.

Flashblock (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gofhjkjmkpinhpoiabjplobcaignabnl) and Adthwart (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb). Obvious what they do and why they're awesome.

Facebook for Google Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/lkdedmbpkaiahjjibfdmpoefffnbdkli). Personally my favorite Facebook extension for Chrome. It doesn't have any chat support however, but I don't use chat so it doesn't bother me.

Google Mail Checker Plus (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gffjhibehnempbkeheiccaincokdjbfe). Its nifty pop ups notify you of emails. Its great for people (me) who get distracted easily and forget impending emails. :saddowns:

Google Voice (by Google) (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/kcnhkahnjcbndmmehfkdnkjomaanaooo) is awesome. You can make calls, send SMS, preview Inbox, and get notified of new messages, as long as you have a Google Voice account. (US only)

Last.fm free music player (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/bbncpldmanoknoahidbgmkgobgmhnafh). Its a great music player that is, as it says, free. You can listen to pretty much any song, make playlists, and use all your Last.fm playlists right from in your browser. It also has the nifty pop ups that Gmail Plus has, telling you what song is playing, including album art. I have a folder on my bookmark bar that has profiles of different musicians like Pink Floyd (http://www.last.fm/music/Pink+Floyd/+charts?rangetype=week&subtype=tracks), Beck (http://www.last.fm/music/Beck/+charts?rangetype=week&subtype=tracks), or the Shocking Pinks (http://www.last.fm/music/Shocking+Pinks/+charts?rangetype=week&subtype=tracks). When I click the play button, the entire list of songs load in the extension button and can be played from there, even if you leave Last.fm.

Shareaholic for Google Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/kbmipnjdeifmobkhgogdnomkihhgojep) if you're in to that sort of thing.

Google Similar Pages beta (by Google) (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/pjnfggphgdjblhfjaphkjhfpiiekbbej)will help you find similar sites with its dropdown gallery of similar pages.

Chromepad (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/kodgendbhboaendecabighpnngpodeij)is great for quick jotting and note taking. Its also great because Google Chrome can now be sync'd across a few computers.

LastPass (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/hdokiejnpimakedhajhdlcegeplioahd)is great for all your password needs if you think you need it.

VidzBigger (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/mlmmmmbpbfgcklcjoipilgnmemaclcld) is a great Youtube tweaker and I love larger videos.

Stylish (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/fjnbnpbmkenffdnngjfgmeleoegfcffe), a user styles manager, helps you find themes for specific sites. If you prefer darker sites or maybe want the layout moved around, this is for you.

Centre image:https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/dkiklnjkgjkmamgoaggongdmekajdlki is kind of nice, centering an image when it loads by itself in a tab and I love speed dials: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/dgpdioedihjhncjafcpgbbjdpbbkikmi

Here is my list of absolute essential extensions:

AdBlock - Version: 2.2.12 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom)

AdBlock for Chrome! Blocks ads all over the web. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars by our users!

Adblock is second only to FastestChrome on my list of extensions. It is truly an amazing piece of work. All the ads removed from web pages is great and it doesn't even interfere with anything I try to view.

Center Image - Version: 2.1 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/dkiklnjkgjkmamgoaggongdmekajdlki)

Center display of directly-viewed images

This I installed after reading a post in this thread. It seems useful so I installed it.

Facebook Photo Zoom - Version: 1.1008.4.1 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/elioihkkcdgakfbahdoddophfngopipi)

The best way to view photos on Facebook!

Oh, this is a good one. Can't live without it. On Facebook, you just hover the mouse pointer over a picture and it instantly enlarges it to a reasonable size. If you are viewing an album, don't wade through the photos individually. Just go to the album page and point the mouse at the picture and it'll enlarge to the size that is viewed when clicking the picture. Saves soooo much time. It enlarges most photos, but not all.

FastestChrome - Browse Faster - Version: 3.1.3 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/mmffncokckfccddfenhkhnllmlobdahm)

Save time and enhance your productivity! Get quick definitions, auto-load next pages, search faster, and more.

FasterChrome makes a blazing fast browser even faster. Something quite similar to FasterFox. It does what it says and it does it well.

Google Quick Scroll - Version: 1.6.1 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/okanipcmceoeemlbjnmnbdibhgpbllgc)

Quick Scroll lets you jump directly to the relevant bits of a Google search result.

This is definitely in my top 5 most used extensions. When you type something into google and click on a search result, if there were highlighted words on the google page for the link you clicked, a little box at the bottom right of your screen shows you those keywords and when you click it, it jumps to the bit you're looking for. It also has suggestions for similar words on the page underneath the main one.

Hotmail E-mail Button - Version: 1.0 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/ppjjgbiniamnbngnjhkoffflodiafbeb)

Lets you access your hotmail E-mails from a button on the toolbar.

I don't use this extension very often, but it serves its purpose from time to time, like when I already have many tabs open already. I don't use it much since Chrome is so fast, clicking the Hotmail bookmark on my bookmarks bar brings it up almost instantly.

LastPass - Version: 1.70.11 (http://lastpass.com/)

LastPass is a free password manager and form filler. LastPass is also available for Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.

Okay, so this wins by default as the extension I use most, only because it manages all my passwords. I was recommended to use it by one of my university TAs because it keeps you really secure, apparently. I don't understand exactly how it works. It sure as hell makes it so much easier to access webpages that require logging in, but don't work well with Chrome's password system. If you get this, don't forget the Master Password, or you are truly fucked.

Turn Off the Lights - Version: 1.8.0.2 (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/bfbmjmiodbnnpllbbbfblcplfjjepjdn)

The entire page will be fading to dark, so you can watch video as if you are in the cinema.

This extension is particularly useful for watching lengthy internet videos in a dark room. It works well on youtube, gamespot, and Gametrailers when I'm not using the fullscreen feature. Note: It does not work on all webpages. Sometimes it puts the shade over the video.

Great extensions, thanks for those.
