I got a ASUS ATI 5850 today.

I have 2 dual monitors, which, unfortunate only support VGA connectors. I have converters to DVI (which worked all fine and well with my old 4850) but this 5850 has one DVI port, a display port, and an HDMI port.

If you see what I mean, I have to use a HDMI > DVI > VGA converts (on the hdmi port)

My computer isn't picking up the HDMI ports display, and windows says theres 3 monitors when I go to the displays. I say, "extend to my main monitor" however it dosent work. ATI catalyst control center isn't picking it up either.

Anyone had any trouble like this before? Its a real bumer.. I tried updating the drivers, and it still didn't seem to work.

IIRC, you can't go from hdmi to vga, but you can go from minidp to vga.

I didn't buy it, I had picked out one for Christmas that did from newegg, and mom had found it elsewhere for cheaper.

I'd rather not go through the trouble of having to return it, install my old card, get the new one, and then put it back in.

Just saying. If you want dual monitors, the easiest way to go is to pick out one with two DVI ports.
