I was going to post this in the "PC thread" but, its not really related at all.
Anyways, here is the story. Me and my brother own the same bedroom (Second largest in the house) and it was also the crappiest. The reason I say this, is because we had NOTHING in our bedroom. So one fine exam night, me and my brother couldn't study. We talked for awhile and came to the conclusion it might just be possible to make a bedroom theatre if we re-arranged our entire bedroom (I wish I had pictures of how it used too look). So anyways, we planned it all out and now it is in the process of getting there. (I wont be mentioning the little things like how we had to put the little shelf up for the 360 and stuff.)
Here is some info on the stuff I currently obtained:
Onkyo 708 Reciever
Bose Cinemate GS II
Xbox 360 - $146 (On sale)
Amp - $70
Sony 3d ready Blue ray player - $160 (On sale)
Cassette Deck/CD Player - $100 (Got them used)

Need to get:
3D ready Projector (Really want a LED< so might have to wait) - $1k~2k
Lighting System - $Unknown (Already put up LED lights.. no pics though)

Pics (WIP) ~Please bare in mind that this is a work in progress and it isn't done yet~

Forgot to mention that we are also getting new furniture in the future.
Right now me and my brother are broke money wise, so we will wait for the "need to get" stuff, but the bedroom is basically done sound wise and I must say. It is damn AWESOME. I wont even bother going to the theatre anymore. Plus I get the luxury of staying in my own bed. ;)
Oh and those picture frames were bought/put up for aesthetics. Paid $100 for them. :3
I am the guy on right side of the room (With the brown hat.)
*Will update as things get done.* Hope you enjoyed. Crit/Ideas are welcome, but no "EWW GET THIS MODEL INSTEAD." If you feel the need to state something along those lines, please PM me instead. :)

Are you adding furniture or replacing some of it? To be honest, I can't say that it looks like your room has space for much of anything else.

Going to remove. The wall where the shelfs are, will be mostly dedicated to the projector projection.
I know its tight, but If I tried to do this setup anywhere else in the house, I would have problems with other people not wanting noise or that the volume is to high.

Hmm. Go for it then.

I think it'll work, its gonna get hot in there though. Is there a window in that room btw? I'd definitely do something like this if I were willing to buy a projector...

We removed all the shelves and everything out of the way... and so began basement theatre.
(apparently, I didn't take pics till later in the process.. lol)

The top is completely sound proofed and so are the sides. I am adding the last layer of sound proofing to the top at the moment and the right wall. Then its time for carpeting, ect. Wooo

A projector mounted through the insulation sealing? I should come see this just to ogle at it. Man, your family takes entertainment seriously.

Nero
May 7th, 2013, 01:24 AM
Lol, well, the mount is very secure, as it's bolted into the beams.
It's mostly me and my brother that take it seriously. He owns the bedroom set-up pretty much, and I own this new basement set-up. I am hoping to buy a house in BC soon (Already bought 2 acres of Residential property over there) and my goal is to take all this stuff and transfer it into my house.

OH forgot to mention, the entire set-up can be controlled by one universal remote. Receiver, Projector, Lights, Projector Screen (Up down), ect.

Also, it doesn't show it, but its a 4 monitor setup. I will take better pics some other time. Bedroom theater has also been way updated.

Christ Josh, how much money has this thing run you? While its quite nice and also none of my business, it just seems a bit silly to spend that much money on something like that.

It's probably his workstation as well as being a entertainment suite.

Would like some more specs on this system. Not because I want to win an e-pen0r contest but I am just curious how it works and why you need 48 Amps lol unless those seats are heated :v:

I spent about 1/3rd my paychecks on this. It took me one year to get this project finished. Remember, I was building the basement theater, upgrading the gaming middle floor system, and updating the bedroom theater (I have yet to post it). I would only spend about 1-1.5k a month max on all the projects combined. My brother paid for upgrades in our bedroom. So all in all, I didn't spend too much. I saved every place I could, but never cheaped out.

Got a new family member to enjoy the theater!
