Shields make objects bounce! :(

Is there anything to make the ball bounce? For example in Halo 3 I used a shield door, but the ball goes through all types of shield doors in Reach :(

Would a one-way door work? I mean, it'd make the player bounce too, but I think that's the best you can do.
