Yeah it's somewhat old of a trick. Basically the Archons do pretty decent splash damage -- and coming out of a vortex everyone occupies roughly a single point in space... so each Archon attack splashes everyone non-friendly. If there's enough Archons in the vortex to one-shot each unit with splash damage... well then almost everything gets splash one-shotted.

too bad the archon toilet strat is impractical and you'd have to have your opponent screw up majorly for it to work properly

Wellll there's enough energy to mass recall and vortex on a mothership if it's full energy. I could see it being useful in 3v3 and 4v4 games.

it aint impractical, even in 1v1 games. the worst case scenario is you miss his army with a vortex, and loose energy, or you only get a small portion of his army and loose his mothership.

eitherway you can just run your entire army into it and he cant do shit. i mean he cant leave cause he has to defend, and he cant hurt or damage you.... so....

Well the impractical part is that it's unlikely for you to have a shit load of Archons... ... especially while ALSO having a mothership laying around.

If you do -- bonus -- flush away.

how many toss players have high templers on hand these days.
