I'd figure I post it here since our SC2 mapping department here seems non-existent
What it is: Zday is a tower defense map that puts you in control of the terran as you fend off waves of various zerg units with "boss" waves in there to increase the pressure at given intervals. Zday started as nothing more than my game level design project and evolved from there. Certain units lack abilities for one reason or another (e.g. ghost's cloaking device is not present as the generators have all broken down or malfunctioned)
The Story: The supposed story to Zday is that you and the three other players control the remaining (or seemingly remaining) forces of a terran controlled outpost being invaded by the zerg. Your only means of escape is a lone Hercules transport that can make it so long as you keep the emergency beacon alive for the 25 minutes its gonna take just to get in sight of your outpost...the moment it stops transmitting, the evac will consider your base overrun and will leave you for dead.
Features:
Scoreboard (broken ATM, trying to get it to work right)
unit shop
ability to upgrade units atk and def
Boss Waves
Problems with the map:
*Scoreboard doesn't seem to want to display EVERYONE so it will seemingly "jump", trying to fix this
*final boss zerg wont actually come into base, will stand outside it attacking due to its range
*due to early screw ups marines use infested Gauss rifle (only thing closest to the original Gauss rifle, accidental overwrote the marine's GR with Raynor's sniper and only way to revert it is to start a new map)
*because people will most likely bitch: my computer isnt THE greatest, so map quality is low, if you wish to make an HD varient (by that i mean just take the map, publish it as ZDAY HD) then by all means contact me if you can run it SC2 on ultra and I'll give you an unlocked version if you're interested in helping in making said map more detailed
if anyone is interested in playing it feel free to do so or add me and help test when I'm doing customs (since i can never get all 4 testers in the same lobby together) I'm still working on it even though the beta tag has been shed off it...
I'll also try to post some screens of the map itself in abit, finishing up a new wave type and adding a new enemy wave
