I will wait till reviews before I decide whether or not to buy the game at all... but I already know which platform I WON'T be buying the game for. Not that it makes much difference since either way I'd be using a gamepad as I didn't like the keyboard/mouse controls in Arkham Asylum.
*sore memories of the time GFWL corrupted my hard-earned 100% save which I couldn't get back despite backing it up*
Crappy PC features aside, the game does look awesome and I'm looking forward to more info as I loved the original. Also, Robin is playable (http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/167637-robin-revealed-in-batman-arkham-city) in challenge mode as a preorder bonus!
P.S. Mark Hamill > Heath Ledger

Um, AC will have multiplayer? That's the only G4WL-specific issue I've ever heard, nonsense console-like online experiences, when it's a fucking PC platform.
Also, Mark fills the "cartoon" roll of the Joker. However, Heath fills the Hollywood roll of Joker. You can't compare the two. Plus, Heath is teh dead :[. Joker killed him :ugh:

I've never had issues with GFWL, and I don't mind using it. As long as they don't charge for it, I'm good to go. It doesn't matter, though, since I already have a Gold subscription to LIVE.

I would tolerate GFWL if it didn't irreparably mess up my GTAIV and AA save files.

GFWL just adds achievements. I don't see the problem with that. I'll be getting it for PC again just like before. Hopefully they add even more PhysX environment pieces. That was always fun.

How was it GFWL's fault for your game saves becoming messed up? The PC framework doesn't use containers for game data like on the 360.

Yeah, and backups don't get corrupted. Simply replace the messed up files with the back ups and that's it. I screwed up a save or two when modding the game, but backups always worked. Maybe it's your PC?

GFWL is a deal-breaker for me

Actually GFW includes achievements...GFWL always includes multiplayer.

Oh, yeah, the fact that they are using it for multiplayer is the dealbreaker. If it was just used for achievements, such as in the case of Fallout 3, I would be alright with that. However, we've seen from Gears, H2V, and GTA 4 that using LIVE for multiplayer not only fucks up your experience, but fucks up modding.
Also, GFW in general is a royal pain in the ass when it comes to product activation. They limit the number of times you can activate the game, even if it's the same computer hardware running a different operating system (opposed to Windows or Office activation).

Again: "The presence of multiplayer had been rumored shortly after the game's official announcement, but has since been denied by Rocksteady Studios (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_City)"

I have no idea why it has the LIVE banner then. It's inaccurate box art.

Happened with the first game too. Online enabled doesn't always mean multiplayer. A number of xbox titles are like that, purely for DLC and patches etc

LIVE != multiplayer
LIVE is a gaming service. Achievements. Friends. DLC. Matchmaking. They're all pieces. Pieces of a whole. That whole is LIVE.

All Windows Live basically is is XBL for PC (in a nutshell). It'd be no different than playing a game like Bioshock that has no multiplayer on XBL.
