View Full Version : [STEAM] Steam Summer Camp (AKA BUY OUR STUFF)

Since we've got a TON of new players to TF2, Steam thought it appropriate to have a special Summer Camp Sale.
Basically, they set achievements in a bunch of games. You get the achievements and you get a ticket. You spend the tickets on in-game stuff like maps. And a PAIR OF SUNGLASSES FOR TF2.
Oh yeah, BTW, they picked a lot of obscure titles that most people might not have, so you're going to have to pay to get the game to get the achievement to get the ticket to get the TF2 sunglasses.
XD Have fun!

Been wanting Bit.Trip Runner for a while now; it's $2.50 (I literally couldn't get a bacon cheeseburger + drink for that little). I'd also recommend Witcher 2 to anybody with a good PC and a high tolerance for bad UI design and horribly misshapen difficulty curves; very solidly written and acted RPG which looks as good/better than Crysis when maxed
I can already feel my wallet trying to run away in fear of the inevitable abuse coming along
(Also, guess which publisher doesn't have a catalogue discount going! Hint: It rhymes with "ELECTRONIC ARTS")

You realize that there are still 10 days left for publisher sales? EA always has a sale during these holiday sales. I have no doubt that they will this quarter. All that stuff about EA pulling their games from Steam is bullshit. It was Steam who had policy issues. That doesn't mean they won't sell EA games for discounted prices anymore. We just have to wait.
In any case, there are a bunch of game packs from EA that are on sale on Steam right now:
Mass Effect Pack (ME1, ME2 Digital Deluxe) - $34.99
BC2 Pack (Core, Vietnam, SPECACT) - $29.99
Medal of Honor (shit game, don't buy this) - $10.19
NFS Pack (Undercover, Hot Pursuit, Shift, Shift 2) - $54.99
Dead Space Pack (DS1, DS2) - $34.99
Dragon Age Pack (DA:O Ultimate, DAII) - 64.99
Sims 3 Pack (Too expensive anyways, lol) - $79.99
EDIT: I see silicon is talking about the 10 day long Publisher packs. Yes, EA is not there. Strange indeed.

Don't know why anyone would waste money on Dragon Age 2. Also Medal of Honor wasn't that bad.

I think I'd like to get Sims 3 from Steam, but not for $80.00...

It won't give me the TF2 Escape the Heat achievement. In TF2 it says I have the achievement, but on Steam it says I don't. What's with that Valve? Wheres my ticket?

use Steam Achievement Manager to lock then re-unlock. I had the same issue with the Trine achievement.
e: wait, damn, that was for a previous day, won't make a difference now.

Achievements from previous days are added to your current ticket count even if you complete them on a different day. I realized this and started unlocking ones that I missed. You couldn't do that last year :D

Confirmed you're right, I realized I missed out on the TF2 achievement and then I just unlocked it. Seventh ticket!

I only got the 3 tickets I needed for the TF2 sunglasses.... and I just used the freebie ones, I didn't care enough to buy anything.
I don't own any of the games for these prizes anyway... except Killing Floor, really, and I very rarely play that. I suppose I could just get the characters just to say I did, but still....

I spent 3 tickets on the Dawn of War II: Retribution DLC gear. I have 7 more tickets to use, but I don't own any of the other games besides TF2 and I haven't played that in years. I guess I'll throw down another 3 tickets for the stupid sunglasses, though. It'll be something to wear while I try to earn the Escape the Heat achievement to add another chance to winning that 10 game wishlist draw.
