Is it really too much to ask though for a mod to do two minutes worth of warning/editing/post deleting, rather than smash the delete thread button? My God. It's pretty sad that a mod would find it to be a good idea to completely delete a topic as important as that which had plenty of rational, respectable debate in it which was worth salvaging. I don't appreciate having a thread deleted that I invested my time in to respond to in a perfectly acceptable manner. If there were unacceptable posts in it, do your job and moderate them, don't delete the whole Goddamn thread.

The entire thread went to hell. It would have been impossible to defuse it without banning 90% of the people in there, so I got rid of the problem. Just start a new one.

What time was it deleted? Would I be able to find it in a cache?

Why would it be impossible to defuse? Issue infractions or delete the bad posts. Seems pretty simple.

Also, the last time I was in there, maybe 10 hours or so ago, I only remember one person (or perhaps two) making personal attacks. The rest seemed fine.

Infractions suck, they don't work. Practically every post was a bad post, so deleting the posts would have left the thread more incoherent than MW2's story.
