Just got back from a great 2-week vacation in Hawaii, and I took a hell of a lot of pictures using my mom's Canon PowerShot SX10 IS. Took the best of the bunch and made myself 40 new desktop backgrounds, figured people here might be interested. Spoilered for your bandwidth in groups of 10.

I think the saturation of the pictures destroys the true intent. When I think of Hawaii, I think of vibrant colors, but I see none in these pics.

Not that this is a really bad thing, just for me, it looks like some sort of disaster struck the island and took away the beauty. :P
(this is all imo of course)
Either way, awesome pics man.

With the exception of the glow from the volcano and the tree the chameleon is on, there really isn't too much color in these first few pics. When I tweaked them in post I didn't touch the saturation at all, only messed with the levels. I feel like it's easy to make something look more colorful, but seeing it the way the camera captured it is more realistic. There's some more colorful stuff later on, but unless one is in the jungle areas, sometimes there wasn't much color, especially near the volcanoes.

Great pics and the fact you shot them with a pocket camera is also great. :)

napalicoast.jpg, looks like the same shot in Lost where the helicopter flies away - great photos.
