View Full Version : Sightjackers?

How many people still actually make use of sightjackers these days? I was thinking of possibly adding a couple of script functions in OpenSauce for making it easier to use (and of course doable in v1.09)

I occasionally sightjack other players. I use Sky's The Limit 2.0, which works great with 1.09.

Is STL not released to the public?

I watched Limited's video for it, and I like what he did. Would probably add a new menu option to OS to toggle 'sight jack mode' on and off. When on, you would use two keys to 'tab' back & forth in the player list to the person you wish to sight jack, just like with Limited's STL.

Well, Skyline and Limited's sightjacker is here... http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5267

You just need a scroll wheel on your mouse to use it.

No clue why you guys are still using 1.08 for Yelo. That shit's outdated. OS supports almost all of Yelo's features + more.

Is it public lol...STL is public korn, project herin isnt though.

Kornman focus your energy on the function to move the gun placement around the screen, like you had working with bitter in the first version of OS.

Its a shame Skyline didnt give me the C++ DLL project for STL, we never fixed the button assignments. I only have the C#.

If you do add a sightjacker kornman make sure you copy STL and add it so when the player dies and respawns the sight jacker automatically goes back to them.

Changing button assignments is just a 1 byte patch. Kornman is not actually writing a sightjacker, just functions that would aid in writing one.

Fixing the ability to change button assignments, the DLL never read the button config file.

Speaking of Sightjackers why do none of the Sightjackers indicate when a player is "locked on" to another player?
I made a post about this just last week on another forum, saying Sightjackers are basically outdated crap tools which need human visual verification by the player.
This works well for most old bots that do a clear snap, but for more advanced bots it would be completely useless.
The bots are getting more advanced but in the meantime the Sightjacker stays pretty much the same. :/

You should at least try out OS. The FOV correction/customization plus the HUD aspect ratio fix features are awesome.

I'm not sure if there is a recent complete build of OS anywhere, however. Maybe Kornman can point you in the right direction, since the one I have (which works great) is from 9/8/2010.

Nobody uses my sightjacker (http://www.xfire.com/video/2ea5e6/):smith:.
I don't use a sight jacker because I don't often see the point. Most of the bots I see do that odd snap-away and snap-back thing (I don't know why that occurs). That said, most of the people I see use bots are really stupid; if, at least, aimbots are becoming more advanced, than the quantity PI, where P is a measurement of how advanced the aimbot is and I is a measurement of the intelligence of the person using the aimbot, tends to a constant over an infinite number of samples.

I used to use STL. I got tired of the the bug with scoped weapons. I went back to the SJ by Del that was for 1.08 while using version changer.

Then why are people still yelling at Korn to release a HUD fix dll in the OS thread? If you have something for 1.09 that fixes HUD, FOV, and lets me change weapon placements, then please give me a link.

Korn fixed a lot of bugs in the source that's in the OS repository, but I think you need to manually compile it.

I attached the latest OS DLL I have that works for 1.09. It's the last one I tested for him.

Fov change is in the biped tag. 1 value.

Fov change is in the biped tag. 1 value.

thats fine if you yourself are making a new map, but for players to play on existing maps or stock maps like bloodgulch or something, they cannot change that value and recompile or the maps checksum will be different, and therefore they cannot play.

not sure if thats what you were saying though.

Godsend. But what does the "Vehicle View" option do? Everytime I choose it, it says "I don't think so, Scooter." WTF is that supposed to mean?

Kornman00
September 9th, 2011, 12:19 AM
Means it's not fully implemented. Suppose to be the vehicle version of the weapon-view config.

As far as scooter goes, this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q7L_fPN4IQ) should have the line.

The one that jcap attached doesn't save my weapon placements. They work fine as long as I keep CE running, but once I close it and run it again, they are all reverted to some other placement (not the default). :(

I confirm that it saves weapon placements. The issue is on your end. And that was cruel Korn :(

I'm at a loss here then. I checked C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\Halo CE\OpenSauce\OS_Settings.User.xml, and can confirm that it's updating that file when I make a change to a weapon placement. I tried deleting that whole folder and letting it recreate it, but it didn't do any good.

Here's where it is when I save it:
