View Full Version : HCE Ping D3D Overlay

I was reading the thread http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?23857-Request-Ping-Display and decided to make what was asked for.

I made a DLL that can you just inject into HCE with winject (or something like that) and then go into a game.
When you have a ping of less than 150 the text is green if your ping is less than 300 the text it orange and anything higher and it is red.

hm. I think 0-100, 100-200, 200-300 should be green, yellow and red respectively, but that's probably just me.

Either way, not bad. May give this a shot if I install the game again...

... and am willing to part ways with Version Changer and Yelo..

Nice and clean I like it.
Same comment as t3h m00kz I would change the colors to different values as well.
Anything above 167 should be red.

33 - 66 green (good connection, great gaming experience)
100 - 133 - 167 orange (not so great connection, but still able to enjoy, leading gets more tricky here)
167+ red (Go find another server, please)

Might want to provide an "average" view too. Sometimes pings spike. There's always someone close by downloading porn!

Or, if you're up for it, a small graph in the corner showing the last 20 seconds or so would be useful.

Modify the framerate view to use ping instead :-3

250-300 used to be a good ping for me in halo, anything lower and it was a miracle.
