Bullet auto aim is always there. Look auto aim is never there.
Its possible to play with a controller and do reasonably well, but as far as being competetive, stick with KB/M

is there anyway to extend the auto aim? or enable the look auto aim?

No.
Learn to play with a mouse and keyboard or go back to H2V where you can get all the autoaim you want.

I used to be really good using PC controllers, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to others. The only real advantage of it for me is that it's a bit easier to keep your aim steady than with a mouse.

Well, movement is smoother with a controller, but slower of course. You can adjust the sensitivity, yeah, but to get the same responsiveness of the mouse on a controller, you'd be sacrificing precision.

It's mainly because on a controller your 'aim' and 'shoot' functions are on a separate surface, right stick and right trigger, where on a PC they're on the same one (the mouse). On a controller if I want to keep my aim steady I just let go of the right stick.

enable dev mode.
player_magnetism 1
disable devmode
join a game.
Only works with controllers, and only if the controller is giving looking input.
Have fun.

Funny enough someone brought this up on our forums, it looks like this will be integrated right into SPV3 for anyone who wants to play with a controller or hook their computer up to the TV.

Or he can you know, do what PC gaming is all about and play the game whichever the fuck way he wants, controller or KB/M.
Bitching because someone wants to play a game with a different control scheme is just shallow and vain.

FPS games were designed to use raw mouse input. Since then games have spoon fed gamers 'added skill' by adding tons of assists. Be a man and play the damn game properly, no assists and mouse :D.

That's why lots of people used to play FPS games with just the keyboard :ugh:

Way to miss the entire point.
Gaming on the pc is supposed to give you superior control over how you play your games.
What's the point of being on PC if there's going to be a stigma over people customizing how they like to play?
Whether or not FPS was originally with keyboard and mouse is not the point, the fact is they work perfectly fine with a gamepad, Halo is a good example of that.

I'd say using a gamepad without auto aim takes a lot more skill than using a mouse
in fact I used to do just that on Halo PC just sayin

And what does that have to do with what I just said?
I never mentioned whether it used skill or not.
My point is some people enjoy playing games with controller, some enjoy playing with keyboard and mouse and a few enjoy both.
In the end Video games are there for entertainment, enjoyment.

also may I suggest adding that one mod that (I think it was patricksj?) that allowed you to walk slower or faster with a controller.

xD and that music I put in for fun.
DirectX Input. Analog stick full down = double walking speed.

I've always assumed the game still supported controller sensitivity. The throttle is stored as a float in memory, so when you use a controller it should increment it properly depending on how hard you're pushing on the joystick (0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc.., 1.0 for full speed). The reason it doesn't work with a keyboard is because keys only have two states (0.0 for on, 1.0 for off). Makes sense that it should work without any modifications.

I wrote a program that used DirectX Input to detect my Xbox controller and then via memory editing modified the speed float Choke described.

Sorry I don't have that song anymore. Nor do I know where to get it since it was some amateur underground thing (the rap is pretty bad...). Even googling the lyrics didn't show anything.
If you want German doubletime rap maybe check stuff out like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rOH2dpuF7Q).
Note: I hate this style of music :v:
edit: found it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tXrbAyqKzY)

Duno if the rumble Halo code is still there but if it is, the Xbox 360 controller allows programmers to trigger rumble (vibrate). If the code is not there, just place some hooks.

Acording to korn it's not there at all. I have noticed another odd thing though. You can't fire your weapon and use the left trigger to throw a grenade at the same time. You have t stop firing and then throw. However, if you map the grenade throw to another button, like the bumpers, it works fine, just like on xbox.

^ i think thats because halo treats the triggers as one axis. as in, the right trigger is all the values from 0 to 127, and the left is all the values from -128 to 0. i recall having that same problem.

magnetism feels good man
you can do surprisingly well with it. Took some getting used to, but now it feels pretty natural.

Nah that's only for auto-aim - that's covered by "player_magnetism 1". What I'm looking for is analog movement (variable) speed with the left stick.
Btcc said it was probably a netcode limitation, so :/

It wouldn't surprise me if the server doesnt know what to do with anything more than wasd movement. HPC has some serious bugs with determining player and object position in general. Especially with objects colliding... Though that's somewhat irrelevant

Not sure if I ever released it but it was a 5 minute programming concept. It only worked SP though.
