Did a forum search and there hasn't been any Saints Row talk since 2009.

Recently picked up Saints Row 2 off of the THQ sale a couple weeks ago, and although it wasn't very well optimized for the PC, causing the framerate to trip all over the place, it's still the most bat shit insane video game I've ever had the honor of playing. Handstanding on cars, streakink in the rain, unlocking no fall damage and beating up strippers who have no respect for the piano, that game has everything I've ever wanted from a sandbox game.

And then I see the opening sequence from the third game.

The fact that I can make a character that looks and dresses exactly like Saxton Hale, with an Australian accent may just be one of the greatest things ever.

And Burt Reynolds is in it.

I've also read that the PC version is going to be much better optimized this time around, so it should actually run smoothly.

So is anyone else getting it?

Getting SR3 on release date.

I think I heard Social Distortion before it went to Sublime. Also, is that like a zombie voice? If you can pick a zombie voice for your character...well, this game continues to prove to be the most insane game coming out. I'm glad they've taken over the over-the-top-silly-sandbox that ended at GTA:SA.

Game's awesome, runs much smoother than the last game.

Oh, and the "Awesome Button" kicks ASS. I have one problem though:

Has anyone played the penthouse assault mission with an extended version of "Power" playing in the background yet? I managed to pull the whole thing off bare handed, doing wrestling takedowns. Then I chased a guy in a helicopter with another helicopter. He lands his chopper, I jump out of mine and land right on him. As Saxton Hale.

Also, this game has a really shitty soundtrack. There are a few good songs on The Mix and K12 or w/e that House station is, but everything else is just blah.

Oh and The Black Keys. Props for including them.

You unlock a tron bike and a tron-itized lamborghini after the Tron level, so it's gotta be after you beat the game.

It's one of the weaker parts of whole series, to be honest. None of the three games has all that good of a soundtrack, the songs feel very tacked on to the rest of the game(In the original I hardly used it at all and in SR2 I just turned it off every time I climbed into a car). I've always thought that GTA and Crackdown 1 had the best soundtracks of a sandbox game.

Which is why I'm glad you can turn off entire radio stations and create your own mixtape station from songs used in the game.

I, however, miss cruise control :(

Driving physics are wonders better than the shit in SR2. Thumb twitches don't send you flying over the divider now!

This game has some of the BEST Mission complete music. The rest of the soundtrack I can live without, but this stuff is just fantastic.

I'm just going to post all eight of them. Number 6 is my favorite.

So apparently you only get to use City Takeover twice. I'm glad I used them both on areas with the hard difficulty boring activities (escort/trafficing/snatch/etc)

I don't know what the button is on the 360 controller is(I play sandbox PC games with a 360 controller on my lap because driving with a keyboard is nearly impossible), but on the keyboard, all I have to do is walk up to someone-not sprint-and hit "F".

There are two different specific nut shots for each weapon, one from the front and one from the back. eeeeeeeeee!

I turned off Dx 10 and it runs perfectly with little to no change in appearance? :v: Solved, I guess. :(

Never played Half-Life, I've played DS1 but the game wasn't good enough for me to remember the name of the ship, and I've seen the movie Wall-e but remembering some ship name from that is not on my to do list.

e: if they were adding non-game references they should have gone with Destiny (SG:U). That show did not need to get cut :\
