Do you play Halo CE? Want to admin some decent servers?

I need some admins for the Lancers Edge servers. I'm not going to be too picky this time around so anyone can apply.

People who are actually active will get priority, and most people will only be given some basic command powers like kick, textban, etc...

Also need some website moderators that are willing to actively seek people out and try to get them to register.

Sign up on the LE site, make a quick post in staff applications (you three don't need to fill out the form I ask for), and I'll just make you admins on all the CE servers.

My site is almost always up. And has been for the better part of a year and a half now. The only thing I vary a bit is the actual game servers, but they're usually up for extended periods until I run into some kind of issues with server hardware or technical issues.

I keep FF off on most of my servers, and I'd enable the automatic team killing countermeasures if I turn FF on. Server admins are mostly there to keep people in-line when it comes to chat, as well as prevent people from abusing out-of-bounds areas and such.

Well yeah, but even with FF off you can still be a pretty big jerk to your teammates. Believe me, I know.

I ignore them when that happens.

They don't know you're an admin unless you tell them. Even then, they probably won't believe until you "prove it."

So I had something peculiar happen earlier. My servers wouldn't list on the gamespy master server list until I restarted the server itself...

Using that 1.00/1.09 version switcher thing? Could've been a bug in that. Also, I'm on Halo fairly regularly and could admin your servers.

Yeah I am using the SAPP which incorporates Unify. Very possibly that.

Project Unify is the cause. Just keep clicking "Get List" and waiting for the whole list to show. Refresh will only refresh shown servers.

That wasn't the problem I was having. I always use Get List and I know that Refresh only refreshes the listed servers.

Oh, sorry. It specifically says in Project: Unify readme that servers may not appear temporarily. I just told you a "fix". If I'm interpreting you and Patrick well, then since the servers alternate showing on gamespy as 1.00 and 1.09, you're refreshing at a time when it is broadcasting to the other serverlist. Unless you mean you servers are unjoinable for a time?

edit: well, the "fix" assuming you've port forwarded and your servers are already joinable by direct ip.

You can always direct IP into the server regardless on what channel it is broadcasting.

Yeah the servers have been join-able for week now. When I created that post the servers hadn't been listing for an hour or so at least.

And yes, we tested to make sure they were actually running and accessible by using Direct IP.

It's all working now though!!

Some of you may have noticed the website (www.lancersedge.net (http://www.lancersedge.net)) down for upgrades for the past few weeks. Well I got off my ass and got mostly everything sorted out.

You'll need to reset your password, which you can do by clicking the forgot password link on the login page. Or by clicking the link in the email that I sent to all existing members before the upgrade downtime.
