Here's what caught my eye:

The text at the top of the Wheatley video says:СПУТНИК НАБЛЮДЕНИЯ "ЛАНТАНУМ"

In english: OBSERVATION SATELLITE "LANTHANUM"

Regardless, the text at the top isn't just some deus ex machina detail/clue. It at least makes historical sense.

Lanthanum in greek Greek λανθανω [lanthanō] >>>>λ<<<<

He says: 1 1 1 at the end.

The word lanthanum comes from the Greek λανθανω [lanthanō] = to lie hidden.[/QUOTE]

Followed by some frames from the last second in the video.

You know it IS possible that Valve is doing what DICE did with Battlefield 3. Wait a very long time until they feel they have the adequate and powerful technology to make an amazing game.

And I do remember reading something about Valve saying that each new Half-Life game will showcase some brand new techno leap for their engine.

Combine stuff in the new engine should look amazing..

God I hope this is actually going somewhere. I hope it's just as intense as Portal 2's was.

The screenshot where you wrote the 8 and the arrow to 27 looks, um, ...

Anyways, if they are really announcing a Half-Life 3, I'm jumping for joy. That cliffhanger after Episode Two left me wanting!

I posted that on my facebook... I can't tell like... I'm not sure what to think about someone just walking around with a Half-Life 3 shirt.

If HL3 ever does happen, I hope Valve has a good head on their shoulders. Just finished HL2. Not really impressed. There were really only two segments I enjoyed at all and those were some portions on the Antlion Rebellion level and the Last level after the retarded fighting with the Striders. Maybe if I played the first one it would have been better, but right now I'm not caring about an HL3 given what the obnoxiousness was with HL2's gameplay half of the time. Still, story-wise I'm sold. Definitely curious what's going to happen next.

I'd recommend playing HL1 if you haven't. I like it a lot better than HL2 personally. HL2 leaned too heavily on the gravity gun gimmick.

See I liked the Gravity Gun a lot. The problem I had was anything involving vehicles. Gunships, Striders, the Boat, the Buggy; all of it just was done out of any sort of balance (7+ shots to kill a Strider with the Rocket Launcher. Really?) and all of them were generally frustrating.

I personally think those sections were the best parts of the game but, that's just my opinion. Striders are fairly easy to kill if you know what you're doing. I might end up replaying all 3 games again soon.
If you do get the first Half Life stay away from Half Life:Source.

stay away from Half Life:Source.

Why? It brings some minor improvements over the original (better physics, actual 3D skyboxes, water, a level select, etc.) with no downsides.

But Pooky. Change is bad. Right.... right!?

Pooky got it right, HL:S is great.
I mean, you can even get the High Definition Pack for it now, so there's no upsides to having the original (Except Opposing Force, which I do suggest.)

Only when it detracts from the experience. Notice how I had nothing bad to say about Halo Anniversary.

And Metroid Zero Mission is still the golden example of a flawless remake, improving on the already great original in every possible way.

What about Serious Sam HD? Or the Xbox 1 port(still the greatest port of a game I've ever played)?

:like:, reminds me I need to dig it out to go play it while I wait for anything on HL3 or so.

I dunno about on PC, but I didn't like SS HD on the 360. The controls felt stiff and awkward and it ran at a really low framerate. Never played the Xbox port, heard it was good though.

The Xbox 1 version had the Serious Sam 2 playermodel(which in my opinion fits the voice much better), a cartoony HUD and menu layoutt, revamped visuals, cutscenes, as well as compensation for using a controller in the shape of a larger hit radius on weapons(instead of autoaim). Not only that, but instead of both episodes being sold separately, it was both games bundled together on one disc, there was no evidence at all that you were playing two separate games.

It's a shame Croteam didn't take anything from it when making SSHD.
