To keep it short, I injected a custom skin by Jackle12 (the author, according to the readme) a few years back into HaloPC (not Custom Edition) to test it out. Now, I got tired of the skin and wanted the original skin back in the game.
Tried replacing the original bitmaps.map with the injected one; didn't work. Tried reinstall via repair; didn't work. Tried reinstall (by uninstalling); didn't work. Tried replacing using Custom's bitmaps; didn't work (oddly enough, the game works as if nothing changed).
So, suggestions?
p.s.
I have the link to the skin-mod... but to avoid people having my problem, I'll refrain from posting the link. :/

Well, reinstalling the game is basically deleting and replacing all the files involved. The bitmaps.map file should not show you skins you injected before.
Post a screenshot of the skin and give us the link too.
E: Give us the link so we can see what it does. I'm guessing it's a ppf injection? Nobody here plays Halo PC anyways, so we won't get stuck with this problem.

Didn't work. :/
E: Just to let you know that I also created a thread in Halomaps.org just for extra response. Thank god this didn't happened to Custom Edition. :/

Check your user compatibly files, it's probably using the bitmaps.map out of there.

Don't have one... or at least not aware there is one. Vista Home Premium user.

This would never happen to Custom Edition since bitmaps are stored directly in the map file itself.

Unless you changed the security settings of the maps folder to all users or disabled UAC, there should be one.

Haven't touched UAC or made it available to all users (considering that there's only one account in this laptop). Assuming that it is stored in the compatibility files/folders, where can I located said files/folders?

You can try just searching via windows explorer for bitmaps.map. If more than 1 entry comes up you know what your problem is.

Wow... found it AppData folder in some folder I don't know what it is used for. Deleted and skin returned to normal.
Note to self, Search function in Windows does work... thanks.
