This shadow system was suppose to ship with the orange box but was dropped because they still supported DX8.

They won't. They are basically building the game around the input of "hardcore competitive Counter-Strike players," and that means it contains more CS 1.6 DNA than CS:S.

It will be. It's being tuned for that first, PC second.

Valve is not PC gaming's shining knight, as many would like to believe. At the very least, though, I have yet to see them make a genuinely bad product.

This of course is false. At one point it was just a CSS port to consoles that has changed long ago.

I know it's not a CS:S port; I never implied that it was and there is zero information given in the previous post where you could extract that idea from. It is, however, a console game that also happens to have an equal (or greater, actually) amount of attention being put into its PC counterpart. You don't put radial menus in a pure PC game, though.

When valve compiles the game some console menus might get dumped in there or vice versa. Same thing happened with portal 2
