Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion

The time of Diplomacy is over. The length of the war and differing opinions on what should be done to bring the war to an end has led to a splintering of the groups involved. The controlling powers-that-be have depleted arsenals and seemed to have exhausted all efforts of diplomacy. Trapped in a stalemate, sub-factions have rebelled and broken off the main alignments. Rebellion is upon us.

What is this exactly? A new game or an expansion?

Interestingly enough, all I've noticed in the beta is the addition of poorly balanced Titans and slightly better graphics.

They're calling it a stand-alone expansion, you don't need the previous games to play it. If you haven't played Sins before but like the sound of a SciFi fleet based RTS game then please buy it and play with meeee!

I liked the idea of the game, but i didn't want to spend the better half of a day fighting a battle.

With Rebellion I find that they've made the pacing a lot faster, I complete an entire game in a couple hours on a small map. Would be faster with non-retarded AI.

I liked Sins of a Solar Empire, I picked it up at launch. That was money well-spent. I once had a 12-hour session with two friends. It was amazing. They no longer want to play the game. :(

That said, I want more games like Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.

I have this same problem, I've got a few friends that I've played the game once or twice before but since the experience took SO LONG we haven't played any online. Sins is a game that seems to only come out at LAN parties and such where time constraints aren't a problem. I usually get a couple games in at Fragapalooza when I go.
