So I was installing the new secondary heatsink (http://www.lg.com/us/air-conditioners/lg-LW8012ER-window-air-conditioner)to my computer. My window frame is a bit warped, so I had to take extra care in getting it in properly and subsequently sealing it up so bugs would stop flying/crawling in. After it was in, I plug it up and turn it on only to hear the most god awful scraping noise. The fan is touches something and it creates enough force to start shaking my house.
It's really hot in here :(.

Can you see the internal fan through all the vents and stuff? Maybe try and ID what it's hitting and use something to poke it out of the way.
I've been wanting to get one of these things for the summers here, but as it's snowing right now and still cold I'm still a ways off. Plus I got to see how the new celing fan does during the summer.

your an idiot for not buying a split system in the first place.
and secondly they pay for themselves in about a month because they're 1000% more efficient.

Yeah, sure, just let me dump four times as much money into something that I'll only be using for two years max.
And also, those things put rooms under negative pressure. If I used it in mine, it's just suck in all the hot air from the rest of the house.

I'm a Canadian, we don't know anything about air cons sorry but I can't really contribute to any more suggestions than "poke it with a stick".

seriously take it back as a defective product and upgrade to a split system air conditioning. you'll save yourself money..... yes even over 2 years if you plan to use it regularly, it will be quieter, and cool your room better.
