Use EvE Online Currency to buy a GTX 560 Graphics Card

A deal has been signed with Nvidia to allow Eve Online players to use Pilot License Extension (PLEX) currency to purchase a real graphics card for use in their PCs. PLEX can already be used to buy game time, and it must be purchased in-game through the main Eve currency: ISK.

It’s a clever move, and one that should see more players spending more time in the game earning ISK to convert to PLEX to get the card. At the moment it’s just an experiment with 100 NvidiaGeForce (http://www.geek.com/articles/tagged/geforce) GTX 560 cards up for grabs. If successful, CCP will look to expand the offer.

That's kinda cool I guess. If more Play2Play MMORPGs did that I might be able to justify spending $15/month on them, that way by the end of a gaming year I could probably significantly upgrade my system. That's actually incentive to play/pay the same thing over and over for me. The reason I don't really play LotRO anymore is because I maxed out three characters before the first expansion came out, that was kinda taxing.

Well, EvE is terrible and I would never pay for it.

I'm talking about other games. All games get stale after you've beaten them multiple times.

Beating and MMORPG consists of getting the best possible equipment on however many characters it takes to play all the content in the game (taking into account the fact that some content is race/class specific).

I have a hard time believing that no one has done that in EvE, but EvE isn't your typical MMORPG.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. by 650 mil I was talking about those 60 GTC codes. I remember paying 450 mil for them. a single 30 day plex is over 500 mil right now.
