Busy with Ghost Recon Online Frag Dolls event tonight, then the servers are going to be up 24/7 from tonight onwards.
Also, I thought someone on this forum (that shall go nameless unless they chime in) was running a private server for Diablo 3. I'd rather player there if it's a "BlizzLike" type deal.
I'm interested in this "real money auction house" thing though. Will be neat to see how that plays out.

The person has the private server advertised in their signature so I don't see why we shouldn't name names. Hell, everyone probably has a good idea of who it is already based on their previous history of controversial gaming discussion here lol.

idk, the whole game didn't really impress me all that much.
it was fun, and looked good, but nothing amazing really.
then again, fun and good is more than enough!

I heard it was insanely mediocre
Any truth to that rumor?

I love it and it's addicting as hell. Haven't played a shit ton, but i'm a level 32 Demon Hunter, made it to Act I Nightmare mode :D
They still have shit to work out, but overall it's a great game.

it's mediocre, but fun.
a bit short, but that's mostly because Normal-difficulty is just too damn easy, Nightmare is a lot better challenge.
but after one weekend of playing, i'm already bored of it.

I was wondering when a thread would pop up on this.
I love it. Very addicting. I just got to 60 on my monk, and have downed the Skeleton King in Inferno so far. That's all solo too; I haven't grouped at all yet. Inferno is retardedly hard. I foresee myself dying approximately 500 times in order to beat it. I'm really, really not looking forward to Act II in Inferno, since that's pretty much the hardest act.

You obviously haven't got any socketed things yet.
neuro
May 21st, 2012, 03:26 AM
bro, i was making these level 30-something yellow shoulders, and made fucking TWELVE of them
do you have any idea what that costs? both in materials and in crafting-price, that shit cost like 2000-something to make in craft-price only, and then the lost money of the materials comes on TOP of that, which amounts to 6000 per craft EASILY.
i wanted ONE, with some fucking INTELLECT on it, and after crafting TWELVE OF THEM, all i got was garbage with strength and dexterity or some stupid gold-pickup-radius shit.
needless to day, my resulting experience was as follows:
FUCK
THAT
SHIT!
don't waste a single fucking cent on crafting, don't salvage either, and you can get EVERYTHING off the auction house which ISNT random shit, and you can pick and choose as you please, and it'll cost you LESS to boot.

Yeah crafting isn't worth it right now unless you've got a shit ton of money left over to screw around with, but gemcrafting isn't worthless. Right now you can't even buy decent gems on the auction house. I have socketed armor and weapons up the ass and it makes me so much more beast.

From what I understand smithing is completely useless until you're level 60, when you are able to craft legendary. At that point gold shouldn't be an issue. Also, if you are dead set on crafting armor with buffs, a lot of people have reported that the "random effects" are not quite random. Most of the time, if you go to craft a piece of armor, the first item you make will have random effects. However, any subsequent attempts at crafting the same item during the same session would give you the same buffs (for example if the first one you made gave you dex and str buffs, the subsequent pieces will most likely give you dex and str buffs, but with slightly different numbers). Imo this is most likely a glitch with the random generator not reseting properly. Instead of spamming the smith 5 times in a row trying to make that one piece of armor, you should try it once everytime you start a new session.
Jeweler crafting is a nessesity. The page requirements to craft the gems themselves is complete bs.
Auction house is the way to go if they have the items you want. I've been selling all of my garbage magic loot to merchants just to build up gold to use in AH. Destroying them at the smith is a complete waste atm, especially since I can't even get the higher level crafting materials at level 35.

Yeah, so Inferno Act II is just retarded. Act I is pretty manageable, but II feels like a whole new difficulty level altogether. Even the white mobs hit like trucks. I'm going to have to farm Inferno Act I for gear/gold for a while it seems.

Most people are talking on reddit that the AH is the only thing you can do to get armor for inferno. Once you get past hell the gear is supposedly useless for it. I'm still slowly going through Nightmare so meh.

Congrats.
I'm having a really hard time finding any team for the end of act 2, hell mode. Either they leave, have low dps (Suck) or don't know what to do. I am on the last mission of the act, and its really driving me nuts. :\

Lol Belial is a pain. I found it is easier to dodge/kite in general by holding down the left click and dragging to mouse around.
As for me, I've been stuck in the transition between Act 1-2 in inferno. It's literally impossible without a complete dependence on AH. Waiting for patch 1.03, which supposedly adresses some of this, and the terrible item drops in act 1 inferno.

So they patched the game again today
I still can't play it due to game breakingly bad performance. GJ Blizzard. I might be getting myself a refund on this one.

I have no technical issues playing it. Although, there is a stupid amount of screen stutter/lag whenever I first start up the game for 2-3 minutes. Everyone I know seem to have the same problem though, probably the game caching all of its assets.
I probably don't need to ask this on Modacity, but have you tried doing a clean install of your drivers by using DriverSweeper or something to completely wipe your previous drivers?

June 13th, 2012, 06:54 PM
The game was running fine before on the exact same drivers I have now. Problems only started when the 1.0.2 update hit. At any rate, I'm not going to rollback my drivers or underclock my GPU or any such other drastic measures people are mentioning just to play one game. If it still doesn't work after the next patch, I'm getting my money back and calling it done.

The game has turned into utter shit. You can not make money, repair costs are INSANE after this new patch. Then they decreased the drop rate and a bunch of other stuff. Reasoning? They want people put real money in the real auction house, so they get 15 percent of the profit. Greedy bastards will pay, with a lot of people leaving the game.

They actually increased the drop rate of high level items, as part of a plan to make inferno act 2+ not impossible. The drops from bosses themselves have been nerfed, while the drops from normal mobs throughout the acts and elite packs has been increased. But I still agree the game is pretty much ruined now, by RMAH. The real money involved has turned diablo 3 from a game into a business. The future PvP will just become "pay to win". The repair costs are pretty retarded now. I did think they were low before, but they over compensated for this. I believe they increased the costs by 5-6 times the original. I'm pretty positive that this will be adjusted again from all the rage going on. Bliz stated that this was to reduce "zerg rushing" higher difficulties by throwing your character at enemies to chip away their health little by little. However, this is pretty much the only way to play through most of inferno.

Everyone is telling me to try it. I am really tempted too, but I just hope it doesn't come with a huge price tag.

June 24th, 2012, 06:03 PM
The standard price is only $20 on steam. However, if you get the 4 pack before the release date, it is basically buy 3 get 1 free ($60 for 4 copies).
E: You also get 4 copies of Torchlight 1 with the 4 pack. Pretty nifty deal, this.
