View Full Version : HCE replace rocket launcher, fuel, flamer, camo and os

Hello,
maybe u can help me. I set up a new Halo server running on gandanur. Its a Halo CE 1.096 server with teamslayer gametype. As u know, there are some maps, hvy weapons,camo and os make the map uneven. i would like to know how i can maybe replace weapons and pus without creating a new map. My goal is, that players dont need to download my modded map (got this already working) i just wantto upload my modded map on server and if player join, they can take for example fuel rod and see the fuel as a weapon - but fuel works like pistol for example. So if u got any tip or tutorial - pls let me know

I think you'd be better off using halo PC for this sort of modification. Halo CE does some map checks that make this pretty much impossible (if I recall correctly).

Halo CE doesn't really support modifications like this.

hmm but what cares CE if a rocket launcher shoot rockets or bullets...

here is the app I threw together. I don't know if it will work with gandaur, I only tested with halo.exe.
side notes:
1. remember to select process at top left
2. when new map is loaded you have to click the button to get new addys(if you want I can fix this, I'm too lazy right now though)
3. tell me what you think.
IMPORTANT Also in the Console for the ded server type this allow_client_side_projectiles 0 it should allow players to see the mods but I haven't tested it.

well this is close to that what i want, but can u make that i select a map, change the settings like in your app and save it? so i can upload to my server and its disabled in general?

Yeah, I can, but I don't have time this weekend. so hopefully sometime early next week. Did it work with gandaur?

ye it worked - if u find some time i want even to set camo and os new and maybe u can delete hvy effects - the protectile was like pistol foe example but the effect was like original - hmm how can i explain... rode lag.. if u got it, send me your email for a littl donation :-)

did you type allow_client_side_projectiles 0 into the console? that should allow clients to see the mods. If that doesn't work there's nothing I can do the visuals are client sided.

Why don't you just make a game type with the "No Heavies" weaponset. Then ask someone here for the server checksum modifier that lets you run modified maps and remove the powerup spawns.

no don't type it into halo, either add it to the init.txt or type it into the gandaur server app allow_client_side_projectiles 0
EDIT: I gave you the wrong command the command is
allow_client_side_weapon_projetctiles 0

hosted by server @gameservers.com - istn allowed to modify haloded.exe there - so i cant use dev commands- ty Maple for trying to help

You're severly limited your options by using gameservers.com since they changed their policy so people can't edit the haloceded.
