But it's not Battlefront 3 or Republic Commando 2 :gonk:
You play as some bounty hunter on Coruscant.

Star Wars 1313 is a new third person action game from Lucasarts set in the bowels of Coruscant. You play a bounty tooled-up bounty hunter who must unravel a conspiracy in the depths of one of the galaxy’s busiest metropolis worlds, on the doubly unlucky level 1313. Lucasarts describe it as a “never-before-seen dark and mature world.” There will be “exotic weaponry” and “fast paced combat” and “epic set pieces.”

This is balls. I don't want to play another super "dark and mature" Star Wars game. I want to play a classic frontline soldier-based Star Wars game! Fuck you Lucas Arts!

Where's my Battlefront 3?
It looks like it could be interesting though, we'll see.

That description is so goddamn cheesy.

Where is my goddamn Battlefront 3 you fucks. If it takes place on Coruscant, one of the busiest and diverse core worlds. Why is it taking place on just a small part of it?

Because anything larger than a small area would be excessive and pointless.
You're probably NEVER going to see a free-roam game that's literally planetary scale.

Not what I was getting at. You went to a variety of places in Star Wars Bounty Hunter and that game was fun as hell. There are plenty of dark and mature and brooding places in the Star Wars universe.

Aye, having the whole game take place on Coruscant isn't something I like. The Star Wars universe is so vast, just sticking to one place is rather silly.

I don't think Lucas Arts devs actually know much about any place in the Star Wars Universe. At least not nowadays.

But republic commando and bounty hunter were relatively dark and mature (for star wars) and they were awesome :saddowns:

I said "super dark and mature". Republic Commando was mature, but it wasn't really dark. Bounty Hunter I have no idea.

What Star Wars games would you consider super dark and mature then?

There have been none...lol.

Force Unleashed, Force Unleashed 2, and in some cases Knights of the Old Republic and The Old Republic.

FU and FU2 were no where near super dark or mature. FU2 was just stupid.
The only real good part in FU was your duel with Proxy, especially when he turned into Darth Maul and Duel of The Fates started to play, with that giant molten rail gun firing right behind you. God that was so intense.

Force Unleashed = FU. I see what you did there Lucas Arts.

For star wars, that would be it. I mean, it's not that easy to take something as fun as star wars and turn it into like Bioshock

There were moments in Republic Commando where it felt a bit scary, but ultimately is was just frustrating. That game was okay, but it really had balance issues and shit tons of frustration.

Nah, you're just bad. Republic Commando was frustrating at times, but it was the good kind of frustrating that comes from being intelligently designed to be intensely difficult. I call it the Mega Man effect.

My biggest beef involves the Super Battle Droids being so damn sturdy. If they were just toned down a bit, I would have been more content with the game. You are correct though, it was intensely difficult.

Squad Order: Concentrate Fire. Throw an ECM Grenade and Focus on its unshielded torso (the ECM grenade should have brought it off).
OR: Bombard it with the Grenade Attachment, Squad Order Concentrate Fire.
You have to think with enemies. The Magna Guards in particular.

Protip for Republic Commando. Use your EMP and Concussion Grenades. You carry 5 each. The game becomes insanely easy if you ration these 2 types of grenades and explosive rounds for your rifle and use them against the droidakas and SBD's.
Amit
June 2nd, 2012, 10:06 PM
SBD's are no problem if you know where to hit them and use focus fire, even if you have no grenades. It's so fun playing with the SBD's by shooting off their limbs and watching them drag half their body towards you with anything they have left lol. Their shields are a nice addition as well. Also isn't it 3 sniper shots to the face of a SBD to take them down? In some missions you get some pretty bauss amounts of ammo to deal with them.

3 exactly IIRC. I played the SHIT out of that game I loved it.

I always felt so badass using the blaster pistol on enemies too, the weak ones anyways (B1 Battledroids, Geonosians, etc.). And it was gangsta when you used zoom on the pistol and the arm tilted the pistol, but somehow you knew where to aim even without a reticle.

The BP rocked. I just wished it was more useful against SBDs.

Hey everyone don't forget the Concussion Rifle melee attack which can stun lock and destroy SBDs in under 2 seconds. But yeah, EMP grenades, the sniper rifle, and focus fire are your friends.

Thought that this was funny that now Lucas has named a successor to his company and is moving on with retirement, there's a game announced without force powers.

OMG that game was glorious for its times. The first time I flew in a video game during Hoth too. I tried running it again a few years back on an N64 emulator and the port was all messed up :(
Speaking of flying during Hoth, Rogue Squadron II was the shizzznit. Still had all the epic battles with a decent amount of challenge, before everything was dumbed down in III.

hey so uh here's some gameplay
U08QNPk0ZNE#!
On one hand, it's quite the looker; that's some serious production values and presentation at work, and check out that facial animation
On the other hand
I think it's what people want to see - this dark, gritty version of Star Wars, and that's what we're delivering
[They] loved the idea of a mature take on the Star Wars world
No, Geoff, I'm pretty sure they didn't
No platforms or dates announced and apparently it's running on a "high end PC," so perhaps Weeyoo or even next-gen Xbox/PS considering the visuals
Uncharted in Space is what it appears to be, and you know Uncharted's cool and all but since we're also apparently getting Uncharted: Rape Escape (Tomb Raider reboot) I already felt oddly fatigued when the shooting started

Fuck the comparisons to uncharted. Shit looks sweet. I love the mature take on star wars. If you don't you wind up with shit like star wars kinect. And PC gaming supremecy.

Looks like Star Wars version of Mass Effect to me.
