For those who weren't aware, SA poster rope kid is Josh Sawyer, who was working on Van Buren and then found himself as project lead for New Vegas. He also did some writing for it and a few of the songs ingame. If you're interested in getting a developer's perspective on the game, its influences, technical constraints, and so on, then you can check out all his posts in the thread right here (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3439576&userid=17931&perpage=40&pagenumber=1). To see the context of said posts (or just read the entire thread), click the little upside-down question mark icon on the left, it'll take you to that posts in the thread rather than the filtered feed.

Only just occurred to me to post this, as I've been getting back into NV recently and he's still actively posting in the NV thread on SA. Being able to chat with the project lead of a game you're into is pretty great!

We may as well make this the de facto New Vegas thread as all the other FO threads seem to be about a mythical thing called 'FO3'. POST THE NEW VEGASEST POSTS U GOT

Vegas is a great game. The modding community is wish-washy at times, but ultimately for what they're given they make some cool shit happen. I've played quite a lot of NV and a lot of the mods in it. Really, if you like playing Hardcore in NV, then you'll LOVE the mods.

It's really cool when project leads speak to the fanbase. It's one reason why I loved Bungie for so long when I joined the community back in 2006/7. Oh I miss those days.

Josh Sawyer threw his own rather expansive mod together, by the way, which rebalances the game more in line with the original Fallouts (i.e. A STIMPACK? ALL MY HOPES AND DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE) and adds a lot of stuff they never had time to put in due to release deadlines.

Coolest project lead.
