Surprised no one has brought this up:

Really sick of this "dick measuring" contest that some companies have been doing lately. Curious to see how Samsung responds to all of this.

It's Apple being a fucking dick. What else is new?

As with all modern law cases, the one that matters is the appeal. And considering that the jury intentionally disobeyed orders from the judge to save time, it will be appealed.
The bigger thing that you should be talking about is how Google is now acting against Apple with its Motorola division. Google says they've tried to get Apple to pay licensing on patents they're violating, but Apple has said no. If this goes through and Microsoft doesn't step in to defend Apple, it's likely Apple will be reduced to nothing more than a hardware OEM distributor for computers.

Is that a good thing? Do we want that?
Are we caring?

You know, I had very little respect for Apple to begin with. This whole patent thing really sent it over the edge. Samsung couldn't have said it better:
Today's verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. Consumers have the right to choices, and they know what they are buying when they purchase Samsung products. This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple's claims. Samsung will continue to innovate and offer choices for the consumer

apple is a horrible company run by horrible people and you should feel nothing but absolute contempt for it
e/ also their products are severely overrated and many of them are about as innovative as my left foot. the only thing apple will be remembered for is marketing genius, i mean how else would you get so many idiots camping in lines outside their local electronics store just to buy the latest version of some completely insignificant product which has less functionality than its previous iteration, let alone most of its competitors

Yes we want that. Fuck Apple.
Then I guess I better jump aboard. :bandwagon:
Rawr, down with shiny products with shit hardware! Fuck labeling your product as cool when only hipsters and old people will use them, rawr!
EDIT: Seriously though, I'm not a big fan of them. Their products have produced more torment for me than my casually racist, Catholic father.

Don't worry Apple. You're doing nothing wrong here! It's ok that you're recording and storing everything I say (http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2012/05/ibm-bans-siri/). And its great that you're following me everywhere I go (http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/04/iphone-tracks/). I could get lost without you!
I know you're worried people might mistake others products for your own.
I almost mistook this Samsung phone I have for an iphone. Luckly I found that I didn't have to pay a $100 fee to develop software for my own device (http://i.imgur.com/RXvvi.png). That alerted me right away that it wasn't a genuine Apple product!
I don't hate you Apple. Or your inferior products.
Not one bit. (http://i.imgur.com/jVFIZ.jpg)
Just a disclaimer I have no idea who's macbook that is or how it got like that, just thought it made a great ending for this biased rant.

I think that Macbook is from the guy who shot his daughter's laptop after she posted some Facebook status update trashing her parents.

Considering Samsung supply the majority of their components for the majority of their products, Suing them doesn't seem that wise of a move, especially if Samsung owns patents to certain components.

^ That's the part I never understood.

Just think if Samsung decided to drop the contracts and forced Apple to source their components else where.
Apple would be crippled for quite some time.

I doubt it. Apple's such a huge company they would have other companies tripping over each other to get an Apple contract.

Providing that said other companies would have access to the same tech Samsung has [to some of which Samsung owns patents to] they would also take some time setting up the process to even make the components in the first place.

Nope. That one was an HP if I remember the video right. I do know that the picture linked by Limited is some woman's MacBook Pro that was shot up by Israeli customs that for some reason took offence to it.

Glad I got rid of the iphone. Got annoyed of it.
Also I agree with this quote.
"This is just beginning.
Frankly, in Apple - Samsung patent war, consumer will be ultimate loser."
