I am close friends with someone working on Project Assembly, a Gen 3 modding tool (Similar to ascension and alteration for previous games), except this supports Halo 4 Already. He gave me a copy to test, and it does infect support Halo 4. I asked him where he got the build to find the offsets for the maps and crap, and he said there is a copy of the Halo 4 Beta build somewhere on usenet. The catch is it's called something completely different, so its not called "Halo 4 Beta Build xx.xxx.xxx"

On a vaguely related note, I still find myself shocked at the closed-doors development method of thinking that developers have. They really need to learn to include their communities, especially if they have prequel games already on the market, when it comes to development. That's one of the things I'm actually loving Ubisoft for with Ghost Recon Online. Their community team is doing their best to push for player-facing announcements and even some inside looks at development through live streams and such. They're still fighting the archaic keep-it-secret-keep-it-safe mentality but at least they're doing what they can within their own "team" (ex: the GRO team of Ubisoft instead of the higher-up Ubisoft general guys).

Leaks shouldn't be a problem if the developers are including their own god damn community in the creative process. That's not to say that the game should be entirely made on community feedback. Because most consumers don't even know what they want in a lot of cases.

Ever since the gears 3 leak pretty much all the internal copies stored on partnernet has required passwords to access files that's even if you have a Devkit that hasn't been flagged.
A lot of Dev kits are obtained from china and marked for destruction.

They don't use partnernet anymore because it just isn't secure anymore with all the devkits out in the wild, they have other networks that have white lists, like production net, cernet.

PartnerNet is actually closing down the 11th of october and is going to start using a whitelist.

If you look at the VHS release, they put all their usernames and online identities on the video. I am dead sure microsoft knows who they are and they won't do anything to them. The beta will never be leaked and at the end of the day thats what MS cares about.

Some people have had plenty of experience unlocking and downloading hidden content on PNET years before they could get their shit online XBL :p

Also, so you can see it, imagine you have the patch engine, that is constantly patching all the challenges that live is doing so your console appears "unmodded" what if you ask the same patching engine to just invoke a download, for said title ID, or trick into showing one game for another etc. I dont know how they do it, but seeing as you are patching the kernel you CAN do these kind of things.

Like I said this has been done on pnet even before jtags were around. Also Xelive was basically ripped off someone elses work. <-Drama :s
