Anyone else playing this game? If so add me on Steam: friedmetroid
I've never really got into CS before even though I've played all of them (even CZ). For some reason GO is the first one to really click for me, and click it did. Now I'm playing this game like crack. The hit detection seems a lot better compared to CS:S and there's lots of customization and an ungodly number of game modes to choose from.
Also, pro guide for CS:GO

Yeah it is. I bought GO cause I used to play CSS a lot. It's fun, but visually it really hasn't changed. It's better but it's definitely not a major upgrade to graphics. Then again, there's only so much you can do with a pipeline as counter intuitive as the source engine. I still enjoy it, and it was only $13. I also did this once, no bots, all players:

This game owns CSS though.

I play this game almost daily. It is pretty kickass. The graphics upgrade is pretty nice in some maps too. The only thing that bothers me is that there are some serious hitbox issues sometimes. Unless its my ping.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the hitboxes. What you're probably running into is the fact that CS:GO hitboxes are drastically smaller than other FPS games.

Also, there's no aim assist whatsoever, where virtually every FPS has it to at least some degree.

Are the weapon mechanics the same as CSS?

Pretty similar, but the bullet spread seems less random compared to CSS. It's more similar to the recoil from 1.6 apparently.

Might have to give it a try. I was never able to get used to how the weapons worked in CSS, always got sniped by goddamn shotguns across the map but could never connect with anything at short range. Maybe I just needed to suck less.

@Pooky Yeah, I'm not sure. All I know is that at times i'd be plowing bullets into someone, and I die from a single bullet. It hasn't happened lately though, and I'm a fairly good player, I actually got kicked for a suspected aim bot a couple times(total BS).
@Timo Just give it a try. Jump into a game of cs_office (with awps off), and you'll have a blast.

I had that problem at first too. What I came to realize is 1. Guns in CS don't handle remotely like guns in any other shooter and 2. The dynamic crosshair has nothing whatsoever to do with where your shots actually land. If you just spray at a wall, you'll see the pattern that your recoil actually goes in. It's different for every gun, but always fairly consistent. Generally, the first 3 bullets are dead on, then it goes up and to the right or left and holds there. So to control your recoil during a full spray you do the opposite of the pattern with your mouse.

I don't recommend just jumping into a game of Classic mode though, as you'll be spending most of the time in the spawn queue. The best way I found to practice your aim with all the guns is to find a server on arms race deathmatch mode. Once you're confident enough in your aim from playing deathmatch then you can jump into classic mode.
