I've doubt not many people will know about this case but here goes.

Earlier this year owner of a site in the UK was arrested over supposed links to Piracy, the sites owner was a college student who following UK law has broken no laws, but apparently US law applies to UK citizens so now the US DOJ are trying to extradite the student to the USA for trial despite said guy never actually having set foot in the US.

There has been a petition set up by the founder of wikipedia found here.

T (http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/jun/24/richard-o-dwyer-my-petition)here's also several news articles following the case and one of the more recent is the Home Office [UK version of national affairs] has announced that the extradition treaty is soon to be updated so that UK citizens may be tried in the UK if applicable, one extradition has just been cancelled due to health grounds, This one may yet still go ahead.

This is one relevant bit of news that is somewhat grinding my nerves in a very bad manner;

“[The UK government] has just upset the US (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9629768/Gary-McKinnon-US-official-very-disappointed-over-decision-to-block.html) by keeping Gary Mckinnon here and they are already trying to sabotage any law changes planned by sending over a US Judge to give a lecture to the UK Parliament later this month,” she reveals.

More info can be found here.

A (http://torrentfreak.com/tv-shack-admin-richard-odwyer-almost-certain-to-be-extradited-to-us-121025/)nd the link to the petition set up by Jimmy Wales can be found here.

And yet if the UK demanded a US citizen be extradited there, it almost certainly wouldn't happen.

"This isn't how allies behave", says the US, who apparently believe that the way allies should behave is to act like doormats for them to trample on at will.

High time everyone else told America to fuck itself. What a wonderful country; founded by a bunch of guys sick of the government being all overbearing, centred around preaching the greatness of freedom and democracy, but by present is about as far removed from both of those concepts as physically possible (yet somehow still professes to be the same nation that those men established 200 years ago). Anyone who doesn't bend over gets stomped - and then the US government have the fucking gall to call other people 'terrorists'? Get fucked.

For a country which supposedly stood against British imperialism, the US is sure doing a great fucking job of taking the formula and improving upon it.

Bashing US? Im here!

Its complete bollocks really, before I've posted the numbers of how many people we have had extradicted, and how many the US has have from us and the difference is staggering. Yes all the extraditions we asked for were granted by the US, but it was such a low number compared to the US requests.

What happened to the Kim DotCom guy, didnt US want him? I heard he got let off due to issues with ceizing the goods?

His arrest was last year, this is following the owners case, which if you didn't know, tends to take some time.
Infact, Mckinnon was under extradition order for 10 years.

It's not a matter of a UK citizen breaking US law. A UK citizen broke international trade agreements concerning licensing that was passed between the UK and the US.

Honestly, I think it's a horrible thing and shouldn't happen at all, but there is a considerable amount of misunderstanding in this. I honestly don't even understand how that he could face copyright infringement in the US at all either. That would be the same as us here providing links to content hosted on other servers and getting put in jail for it. This type of language has tried to get passed through lobbyists into law in the past but it was squashed quite quickly. Especially in light that over 60% of the special interests organizations pushing for it would have been subjected to the same law. When it was going through the house/senate I quickly recorded my own footage, slapped my copyright info on it, and uploaded it to my private server. I had bookmarked tabs read to open and copy/paste links to my materials so that these groups like the MPAA, RIAA, Sony, etc. would have instantly become criminals.

Actually it is, our law enforcement looked into it and found there was no law broken and no charges to be held so it was dropped, immediately after the US filed for extradition.

More info on this here. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9621015/Gary-McKinnon-Eric-Holder-formally-complains-to-UK-and-refuses-to-take-Theresa-Mays-calls.html)

Beware the New World Order......
As qouted here: (http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-new-world-economic-order-deepening-the-u-s-eu-transatlantic-trade-partnership/5309971)

Opportunities for enhancing the compatibility of regulations and standards; Reduction, elimination, or prevention of unnecessary ‘behind the border’ non-tariff barriers to trade in all categories; Enhanced cooperation for the development of rules and principles on global issues of common concern and also for the achievement of shared economic goals relating to third countries.” A U.S.-EU trade agreement could serve as a model for the rest of the world, setting common standards on regulations, tariffs and investment rules.
Those words they use to enforce agendas they have.
