As long as their take on star wars is better than the last 3 new ones that had terrible writing. idgaf

It's funny because nothing's different.

Knowing Disney, the Star Wars movie they make will be on the same level of seriousness as The Avengers...for the children! Avengers was fun to watch, but it's not what I want in a Star Wars movie.

I want a gritty Star Wars set in the Legacy of the Force era. That would be boss.

Heard this from my Disney-insider friend. Just as long as their bluray releases don't suck a dick, like the Avengers bluray does (UK version only affected).

Episodes VII-IX planned for release beginning 2015. Well, I guess that's a thing the world has to deal with now.

Well, The Black Hole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Hole) was Disney's in-house attempt to create a Star Wars competitor. That should tell you all you need to know.

They're saying that this new movie will be decades after ROTJ. Fuck. Why can't they do the Thrawn trilogy? Do they not want to walk on established cannon or something? Cause fuck anything post YV war.

You know he's still alive in the canon right? Any conceivable time frame that the movies would take place in would likely include him. After all, they've announced it as "Episode VII" which means its a sequel instead of a prequel.

As far as episode 8 is concerned, books are noncannon and it's going off on its own story.
Admiral Thrawn never happened, sorry pooks~

WELP good thing I stopped caring as much about Star Wars. I'd rather watch "Something Something Dark Side"

They should just skip to the Yuzhan Vong invasion.
They've got 20 years of story before they have to deal with that.
That said, you can't retcon the bigbad the emperor was prepping for.

Actually, I think it'd be pretty cool if this episode 7 thing was just a ruse to redo episode 1-3 without jar jar and tee-hee-i'm-so-in-love-with-you shit. You know, something with an actual plot progression and character development.
