So does anyone else have one? Would like to add some of you to my friend's list (or whatever the heck Nintendo wants to call it...).

I'll maybe get a Wii U in time, since I'm really waiting for Nintendo to revive a lot of their old franchises that missed out on the Wii.
Star Fox, F-Zero, Pikmin, Star Fox...uuuhhh, Star Fox...star fox (please?)

My girlfriend's dad bought one the day of release. I'm not big on keeping up with game systems and shit now-a-days but this thing is pretty kick ass. It's nice to finally see a major graphics update along with 1080p support for Nintendo.

Soo I got Pikmin 3 a few weeks ago, beat it a couple times.
Pretty good game. Anyone else get it?

I replayed pikmin 1 and pikmin 2 in anticipation for pikmin 3, but then I realized I have no way to play it. I don't have a wii-u and neither do any of my friends. Oh well.
I heard pikmin 3 was a lot shorter than the second one though. How does it stack up in terms of difficulty and complexity?

Well, there are some pros and cons to it. Yes, it is noticeably shorter than the second game, but at the same time, that game had practically no time limit. This one has a time limit based on how much fruit you collect. Fruit is grinded down into juice which your crew drinks at the end of each day (one jar per day), and depending on the fruit, obviously certain fruits translate to more or less juice than the other. There are also little notes scattered around the world for you to collect, which range from how to play tips to diary logs and some secret number thing that unlocks a code for videos on some website. While rock pikmin and flying pikmin replace the white and prurple pikmin, the challenge mode has all 7 types of pikmin.
Pros
*A narrative with multiple characters that actually tries to step into darker areas near the end.
*Gorgeous visuals. This is by far one of the prettiest Nintendo games I have ever played.
*You have a map of the area you have uncovered in your hands that you can scroll through to find missing pikmin/fruit left to collect/direct your other two crewmates
*Each boss is completely different from the next that play with your ability to strategize and (in some cases) follow changing environments
*At no point do you feel like you're repeating yourself
*The levels are very large and complex, I was constantly pausing to look at the map to see where I was and decide where I would go next
*All pikmin can carry bombs, and they don't freak out and drop the bomb when you call them anymore
*The final boss is freakin' creepy as hell
*There is only one onion that houses all of the pikmin. At first I thought this was a bad thing, but instead it helps you get out there quicker without wasting alot of time running from onion to onion. Whenever you find a new onion in the game, at the end of the day it fuses with the larger onion, where you can pull all pikmin from at any time.
Cons
*The c-stick control is gone, replaced with a duck-and-roll command where you and all your pikmin will roll left or right depending on which direction you press on the d-pad. The right joystick is now a free camera.
*Even though the maps are larger, there are fewer of them, 5 in all
*It's noticeably short, I beat the game accidentally the first time around and had to go back to 100% it. However it really depends on how resourceful you are and how quickly you can collect all 66 fruit.
*Remember in the first two games where you would find yourself throwing a ton of pikmin and the pikmin lined up to be thrown and it was kind of like a belt of ammunition? In Pikmin 3 that's not there, they just pop out of existence and into the hand of the crewmember throwing them. More of a nitpick, you probably won't notice, but it bugged me
*shaking the Wii U controller dismisses your pikmin. If you hold your controller steady and don't move around like I do, this isn't an issue, but for me this caused me to lose 100 pikmin in one day because I set the controller down after the timer disappeared. The general dismissal button is B, but for some reason you can also dismiss all of your pikmin by shaking the controller too much.
Little things that aren't really pros or cons
*the days felt shorter than the last two games. Maybe it's because it's been awhile since I've played them, but the 15 minute days felt to go by alot faster than the first two games.
*you can play the entire game without a tv, just hit the minus button(or select button, it's called both I think), the tv goes black and the WHOLE game is now on the controller screen.
*The save system is some kind of meld between Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2, where even though there is only one save, you can still replay each day back to the first, granted if you save at the end of the day you will lose the progress of any days after that, but still, it's a way of picking and choosing what part of the game you want to go back to.
All in all I'd say it's definitely the first must-buy game on the system and will hopefully bring about a sequel in the future. I had a ton of fun with it and am toying around with the challenge mode right now, which have you collecting treasure, fighting various enemies or replaying boss fights.
