Hey guys! I just bought a really nice webcam that came with an integrated mic. The video quality is great and the audio records decently enough.

My only problem is when I record "screaming" or "loud" vocal moments. I get this static type of sound. I hope someone understands what I'm saying, because I can't explain it really well...

Can anyone recommend me a good mic for recording high quality voice? I'm making several commentary gameplay videos (mostly horror games).

A headset mic would be cool, but a regular microphone will do just as well.

Thanks bros!

sounds like your topping the mic, try either the direction you hold it when you scream, the distance ect.

It's called clipping and your mic will distort.

You could increase the distance but no headset mic is big enough to capture those sounds.

Since most Mics run of XLR and you prob don't want to spend money on an audio interface, try to get a USB Mic. They are pretty decent

The first idea that comes to mind is a Blue Snowball, but they aren't cheap.

I'll do a little digging and see if I can come up with a good quality mic that won't break the bank.

Oh cool, I didn't know they were on sale. I'm going to nab one while I'm there. I advise Pope to do the same. Thanks Plauge!

Yeah, and they're a trusted website. Bought a keyboard and headset from there myself.

Hey guys. I decided that to invest in a good setup. I purchased a Samson CO1U condenser mic, a pop filter, a desktop mic stand, and a shock mount.

I made sure that I reviewed a lot of this stuff before buying it. I think it will be a great investment.

Thanks for the input and suggestions. I already purchased this stuff last night, but thanks again for suggestions!
