For 300 bucks, seems like this would probably make for a sick Cintiq alternative. 256 levels of pressure.

Neat, but I'm waiting on a version that has computer internals. There are a few already available from other manufacturers, but they all have a screen resolution of 1366x768. This resolution is absolute garbage for anything that isn't meant to simply browse the web and even then it's barely adequate. I had to use CORE engineering software on a monitor of that resolution, and the available work space for the diagrams was about a ninth of the total screen real-estate.
This thing is nice in that it is 1600x900. Give me a Windows 8 tablet PC running an AMD or Intel APU/CPU and a screen of at least 1600x900 with Wacom support, and I'll be sold.

oh I've got plenty of mobile devices - a G2X, a tablet laptop running w7, and a nexus 7. I'd be getting this device as an art tablet device to be used with my primary computer.
as far tablet pc devices go, tx2150us (http://www.notebookcheck.net/uploads/tx_nbc2/320788.jpg) is pretty decent, and the asus slate (http://www.notebookcheck.net/uploads/tx_nbc2/PR-ASUS-Eee-Slate-EP121-1.jpg) looks pretty interesting

The Samsung Series 7 Slate was interesting, too. The problem is that all three have unworkable screen resolutions. The HP is also thick and heavy as a brick, which kind of makes it hard to doodle on my lap with.
Thus far, it seems as if the Surface Pro will be the solution for me. I'm just waiting to hear from Microsoft that it supports proper pen input before being sold on it.

Actually, this kind of thing is exactly what I've been looking for. Cintiqs are amazing, but often overkill for 95% of what you use them for.

Well, what I've been waiting for was also announced.
Click here for the ThinkPad Helix! (http://www.lenovo.com/products/us/tablet/thinkpad/thinkpad-helix/)
1920x1080 screen, Wacom digitizer, x86 Core-series CPUs, full keyboard dock that extends battery life...
Surface Pro is officially dethroned.

They also cost about ten times more than they should because Wacom are a bunch of monopolizing buttlickers.
